Introducing Nicole’s favorite cocktail to indulge in while transitioning from summer to fall - the Flower Girl White Negroni. The White Negroni preserves the essence of the classic Negroni, while highlighting a softer palate where citrus, floral, and botanical notes shine. The star of the show is Flower Girl Vermouth. With less than 1,200 bottles crafted each year, this South African vermouth is made from 100% Viognier. The resulting profile is lush and rich. Flavors of dried flowers, ginger root, orange peel, tea, and a whisper of grapefruit make this the perfect complement to a citrus-forward gin (try the Roku, you’ll love it) & bitter liqueur. You can also skip the cocktail and enjoy it on the rocks with a citrus wheel, but that’s for a later date!

Recipe:

1 oz Flower Girl Vermouth
1 oz gin
1 oz white bitters

Add into a glass with a large cube and stir, stir, stir. Enjoy with a lemon peel or orange peel.

We listened to your feedback and are thrilled to share that starting this month, Level 1 and Level 2 “white wine only” clubs will feature TWO different white wines - as opposed to just one label. As always, you can still choose from “red and white” or “red only” selections too. There’s still time to join our Wine Club in time to receive September’s wines (starting at $29/month)!

Perfect to enjoy yourself or give as a gift, each level is filled with hand-picked, limited selections, as well as:

-Two different wines per month
-Tasting and vineyard notes
-Food recommendations and recipes

We can deliver to Rhode Island residences or ship to most states in the US. You’re also welcome to pick up your club from our store each month - free of charge! Learn more about each level and join online or in-store.

What are the differences between Soju & Sake? 🍶

Origin: Soju originates from Korea. Sake comes from Japan.

Production: Sake is brewed and fermented (similar to beer), using rice, water, yeast, and a mold called koji. Soju is a distilled spirit (similar to vodka), made by fermenting starches and then distilling the liquid.

Ingredients: Sake is made strictly from polished rice, water, yeast, and koji. Soju can be made from rice as well, but it frequently uses other starches like barley, wheat, tapioca, or sweet potatoes.

Alcohol Content: Sake is lighter, usually ranging from 13%-17% ABV. Traditional or standard soju ranges from 16%-25% ABV.

Taste: Sake offers complex, smooth, and fruit or floral-forward flavors, sometimes with savory or umami notes. Soju has a cleaner, more neutral, taste with a stronger alcohol kick. Modern versions can also be flavored with fruit.

Serving Style: Sake can be served warm, room temperature, or chilled. Soju is almost always served chilled.

We are excited to share we received a limited amount of the small production Rocche Costamagna Arneis & Nebbiolo from our dear friend Alessandro Locatelli - the vineyard’s proprietor & winemaker, pictured above! This prestigious vineyard has a history dating back more than two centuries - the historic cellars were built during Napoleon’s years in the heart of La Morra.

With less than 1,300 bottles produced annually of each label, these wines beautifully highlight the terroir and spirit of Piedmont.

Enjoy a taste of La Dolce Vita right here here in Rhode Island! Tonight, Friday, August 28th from 4:30pm-6:30pm our dear friend Alessandro Malpassi (Monsieur Touton) will be hosting a presentation of seven beautiful wines that will transport you right to Italy.

We’ll be starting with a toast of crisp & refreshing Alta Langa (sparkling wine made in the Champagne method) and finishing with a bold & powerful Barolo (known as the “King” of Piedmont) that is a fabulous value under $40. See you soon!
