Today marks the birthday of a true trailblazer and historical figure, the "Hemperor" himself...Jack Herer (June 18, 1939 – April 15, 2010). 👑
If you’ve ever appreciated the incredible versatility of industrial h**p, wondered how the modern advocacy movement began, (or gotten your hands on his namesake strain), you are looking at the man who made it possible.
In 1985, Jack published his groundbreaking historical text, The Emperor Wears No Clothes.
Backed by years of meticulous research, Jack exposed how industrial h**p could completely revolutionize eco-friendly paper manufacturing, clean energy, textiles, and sustainable agriculture. (He was actually so confident in the plant's planet-saving potential that he famously offered a $100,000 cash reward to anyone who could scientifically disprove his findings. That reward went entirely unclaimed).
Jack’s work encouraged the public conversation away from misconceptions and toward legitimate solutions.
Today, we remember him as a passionate educator who looked at a simple plant and saw a sustainable future for global industry.
