Dear Pipe & Pint Durham Family,
We wanted to reach out personally regarding an important change that will take effect beginning Monday, June 15.
After much discussion and consideration, we will be temporarily suspending indoor cigar smoking at our Durham location while we work through concerns that have been raised by our landlord and a neighboring tenant. We know this news will be disappointing to many of our regular guests, and quite frankly, it is disappointing to us as well.
Since opening our doors in Durham, our goal has always been to create a welcoming destination where cigar enthusiasts could gather, relax, enjoy great conversation, and share in the unique culture that surrounds premium ci**rs.
The friendships, community, and experiences that have been built here over the past year have exceeded anything we could have imagined, which makes this situation especially difficult.
The reality is that while many of us appreciate and enjoy premium ci**rs, not everyone shares that sentiment. As cigar lounge operators in North Carolina, we must operate within regulations that include a complaint-based system. When complaints are received, they must be addressed and corrective action must be taken. At this time, we are actively working with our landlord and neighboring tenant to identify a solution that addresses their concerns while allowing us to return to the experience that our customers have come to know and enjoy.
The Pipe & Pint Durham will continue operating as normal from a retail standpoint, offering the same outstanding selection of premium ci**rs, accessories, and to***co products that you expect from us. We remain committed to providing the best cigar selection, service, and pricing in the Durham and Chapel Hill market. Our beverage program will continue as well, and we look forward to welcoming you for b**r, w**e, and great company throughout the week.
Most importantly, we remain committed to our community. We will continue hosting our customers, friends, and fellow enthusiasts while we work toward a long-term solution. We are actively engaged in conversations to move this process forward and will keep everyone informed as developments occur.
While we cannot provide a specific timeline today, our hope is that this suspension is temporary and that we can return to regular operations as soon as possible. Until then, we ask for your patience, understanding, and continued support.
The support that Durham has shown us since day one has been incredible. Whether you've visited once or have become a regular fixture in our lounge, we sincerely appreciate you. Your loyalty, friendship, and encouragement mean more to us than you know.
Thank you for standing with us. We look forward to seeing you soon, and we will continue sharing updates as we work through this challenge together.
