The Story Behind Nanay’s Kitchen

Nanay’s Kitchen is unique and incredible, bringing authentic heartfelt tastes of the Philippines to the Northland. Owner Beth Aliganga Canete first started bringing her secret recipes to customers in 2013 presenting Beth’s Famous Egg Rolls and Empanadas. Her story begins when she was encouraged by a good friend to start selling her egg rolls. Soon after, she hosted a fundraiser for Philippines disaster relief after Super Typhoon Haiyan hit in November, 2013. The response to her meals was phenomenal. Relief funds far exceeded initial expectations and her egg rolls and empanadas reached the hearts and stomachs of many, whom from that point on became loyal fans of her cooking.

As Beth progressed in her culinary skills through continual refinement of so many more of her very own recipes, she expanded the business into today’s Nanay’s Kitchen. Her inspiration of the name stems from her cultural background. The term “nanay” is what most Filipinos call their mother ... Nanay is the one who brings everyone together over food and good times. Beth tells about her own love for cooking and the kitchen where her family gathers for comfort, care and togetherness, celebrating the enjoyment of her extraordinary meals.

Continually Nanay’s Kitchen attracts more and more customers with Beth’s delectable entrees. Her passion to charm the appetites of her customers as she shares her heart in her cooking is unsurpassed.
