Dennis Port, Ma (November 30, 2016) – The Whittemore family today announced that in an effort to continue the revitalization of Dennis Port, which holds a very special place in their hearts, they will be renovating the former Bastain’s 5 & 10 location. Coming in the Spring 201

7 they plan to open The Beach Shack at Chase’s Landing. Carl & Priscilla Whittemore purchased Chase’s Landing in 2004 from the Chase Family. Over the years the family has worked to improve the plaza while maintaining the old time Cape Cod feel. The long neglected Susan’s Garden Mini Golf course was restored and reopened. Managed by their daughter Kristen Whittemore Crooker the business is a past winner of the Dennis Village Garden Club’s Golden Trowel Award.

“Having been born and raised here in Dennis Port, it means so much to me to hear patrons reminisce with their children or grandchildren about playing mini golf or shopping at Bastain’s 5 & 10 when they were young” said Whittemore Crooker a 13th generation Cape Codder. Chase’s Landing is an excellent destination for family entertainment while visiting Dennis Port in the summer. What’s The Scoop serves up Richardson’s Farm Homemade Ice Cream & Richie’s Premium Italian Ice.

“It is important to us to continue the history of the plaza. We look forward to many more years of serving the Dennis Port summer beach community” said plaza owner and long time Cape resident Priscilla.
