Canopy Management

Vine leaves aren’t just for photos — how they’re managed affects the wine in your glass. Winemakers trim or adjust the leafy canopy to control sunlight and airflow. 🌞 More sun = riper fruit flavors. More shade = fresher, higher acidity. Taste the difference in Cabernet from Napa (ripe and lush) versus Loire Valley Cab Franc (bright and herbal). Pair with Caprese salad to bring out the green, leafy freshness. Fun fact: canopy management is often called “vineyard architecture.”
