Concrete Coolness

Concrete tanks might not sound glamorous, but they create incredible wines. Unlike stainless steel, concrete is slightly porous, allowing micro-oxygenation (like oak) but without adding flavor. The result? Wines that are smooth, round, and pure. 🍷 Many are made in egg shapes, which naturally circulate the wine as it ferments. Taste a concrete-aged Chardonnay or Malbec and you’ll notice the creamy texture. Pair with roast chicken for a classic combo. Fun trivia: concrete “eggs” can cost more than oak barrels — but winemakers love them for their balance of tradition and modernity.

For today’s Feel Good Friday, we’re shining a light on two organizations dedicated to advocacy, access, and meaningful support.

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) leads the way in research, early detection initiatives, and life-changing resources for patients and families facing one of the toughest cancers. Their mission is simple and urgent: improve outcomes and save lives.

WisRID (Wisconsin Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) champions accessible communication by supporting professional interpreters and promoting equal access for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing individuals across Wisconsin.

We’re grateful to support both organizations and the impact they make every single day.
