RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
In early 2023, Maverik reached out and made an offer to purchase some of our land in Deer Trail — including our gas station (Deer Trail 66), the lots between the gas station and the church, and the block across the street. We accepted, and for more than two years have been prepping for this transition. On July 21, 2025, we had our real estate closing.
The intent of this sale (and any future sale of our commercial land) is to better the town of Deer Trail. Instead of bashing the inevitable fact that our town is quickly growing and expanding, let’s assume positive intent. Having a corporate convenience store (not truck stop) will provide more food and grocery options, lower gas/diesel prices, and of course, employment opportunities and tax benefits to the town.
We have been in the community for nearly 50 years. Know our decision to accept this offer did not come lightly, but it did come with intention to ensure Deer Trail and its Eagles can continue to soar.
Thank you to our loyal customers and those who found us when passing through. It was a pleasure to serve you for nearly 42 years. Also, a sincere thanks to our former employees for helping our business thrive for all of these years. And now, we can finally retire!
