Happy Heavenly Father's Day, Dad!

We lost you very suddenly on a Father's Day. You always liked and had horses. On the Father's Day you were promoted to heaven, you were breaking another rambunctious, stubborn horse when you were, literally, taken from the saddle. You always said you wanted to go with your boots on...and you did!

What pride we all share from the life lessons you taught us by your example. You were a hard worker, never afraid of a challenge. You were a successful, self-made farmer, businessman, carpenter, mechanic. The list of your accomplishments is too long to mention. You were a dependable and trusted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. You had high expectations for yourself and others. You were known for your strong character and work ethic. Everyone knew you could be trusted; giving and keeping your word was who you were.

The legacy of your lifetime of hard work and sacrifice continue to live on today.

Thank you, Dad!

Want to know the most dangerous words in health and fitness?

“I’ll start again Monday”

Let us explain what's REALLY happening:

When you tell yourself you'll "start again Monday"...

You're not just pressing ‘pause’.

You're actively choosing to make things WORSE.

Because what happens next is predictable…

"Might as well enjoy myself while I can."

"Getting it out of my system."

"One last blow out."

In the last 10+ years, we’ve helped 1000’s of ladies transform their bodies...

We can tell you this with complete certainty:

The "Monday Mindset" isn't motivation.

It's self-sabotage in disguise.

Inside our weight loss programmes we don't DO Mondays.

We don't need fresh starts.

We just live.

Making good decisions TODAY.

Handling slip-ups WITHOUT drama.

Moving forward WITHOUT the "all or nothing" mindset.

So if you want to break free from the Monday cycle then we’ve got something coming very soon that you’re going to be interested in.

Keep your 👀 peeled or if you’re super keen just comment ‘Info’ below and we’ll explain what’s happening first 🤩

This was our absolutely gorgeous January sunset yesterday! A little snapshot definitely does not do it justice. Only God could create the happy, happy palette of the brilliant shades of turquoise, corals and peaches, lavenders and blues!

NO-SPREAD SUGAR COOKIE DOUGH

If you like to make decorated cookies for Christmas or other events, this recipe makes a dough which does not spread and lose shape when baking.

A few things to keep in mind to help make your cookies keep their shape while baking:

1. When creaming the butter and sugar, beat until light and fluffy to incorporate air into the mixture.
2. Use room temperature eggs and butter. Butter must not be too soft, just soft enough to leave an indentation if you touch it.
3. Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture, but be careful not to overmix. Mix just enough so dough comes together in a ball.
4. Roll out on parchment paper with a little powdered sugar vs flour to keep from sticking.
5. Bake on parchment paper or silicone pad on a cookie sheet that is 'not' a non-stick cookie sheet.
6. Do not overbake. Bake just until a light golden color around the edges.
7. Cool on cookie racks.
8. Depending how fancy you like, ice with royal icing, butter cream frosting or a powdered sugar glaze.

Makes about 1 & 1/2 dozen cookies. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-12 minutes. Roll out about 1/4" - 1/2" thickness before cutting into desired shapes with your favorite cookie cutters. Leave some space between cookies on baking sheet.

RECIPE

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted room temperature butter
2 room temperature eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste or real vanilla extract

Mix dry ingredients together.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla.
Gradually add flour mixture to butter, sugar mixture until dough forms a ball.

This dough does not require chilling before rolling. However, if tightly wrapped in plastic wrap, it will keep 2 days in refrigerator or up to 3 months if frozen.
After cookies are baked, they may be frozen, whether plain or decorated. Use only parchment paper to separate layers in a freezer-safe container. Do not use waxed paper. Make sure cookies are thawed before removing paper separating layers from freezer.
