I promised you all an update when the time was appropriate, and today is that day. First, we want to start by saying thank you to the community and our followers. Thank you for your support, your encouragement and your patience as our family navigated all the challenges since acquiring the property. It’s been a journey, and although today brings a mix of emotions, we are beyond excited for what’s to come. We had to take a hard look at where we are today and what we realistically can handle at this point. We were hit with challenges right out of the gate brought on by the pandemic, followed by a loss in our family that changed my husbands responsibilities elsewhere. Despite the challenges we kept hope, hope that things would calm down and we would get back on track, so we continued planning, pricing and designing the store because we couldn’t accept defeat.
I believe that things do happen for a reason and that fate has intervened here. Although our family will not open the doors to the store again, we are so excited that another family, with strong community ties, will take on this adventure. Today is a bittersweet day for both our families, and we hope that you all support and encourage this new family as they take on this project.
Our community is amazing, and I have no doubt you will all rally behind them in support. It is no small feat they are facing. We ask that you show them patience and compassion as there will be a lot to figure out as they move forward. The restoration is a big undertaking itself, and the business will be consuming, but knowing the passion and heart that they bring and am confident it will be nothing but a success. We look forward to helping them build their dreams and bring back something this town has been missing for far too long.
Congratulations to the new owners (it is not our place to announce their new venture, so I will let them handle that in the coming weeks as they get things together), it’s going to be amazing, we just know it ❤️
Sincerely, The Hiller Family
