Even turning onto 149 to grab a Coke Zero at Downstream Gas & Mercantile can turn into a photo worth keeping. This view as I popped off of Deep Creek Road had a little of everything—rain-darkened pavement, sunlight catching the layered Creede Formation bluffs, and low-hanging evaporative clouds winding through the timber above the valley. I loved how the yellow lines pulled my eye toward those golden rock walls, then up into the fog and blue sky. It’s been good to have moisture back around Creede these last few weeks—and it certainly gives the camera plenty to work with.
For this week, the current Creede forecast calls for a mix of sunshine and clouds, with spotty afternoon showers or thunderstorms each day. Highs are forecast around 65 with overnight lows at 36. The weekend trends cooler: Saturday looks partly sunny with an afternoon shower or thunderstorm possible and a high near 61. Sunday brings more clouds and additional showers or thunderstorms, with highs in the 50s around town. Weekend lows should stay in the upper 30s, but the higher country will be colder. Those weekend details can still shift, so keep an eye on updates as your plans get closer.
There’s something about sunlight returning after rain that makes me appreciate this valley all over again. Robbi and I are thankful for the moisture, the changing views, and the chance to share a little of home with you guys. Hope your Tuesday brings a few moments worth stopping for. ❤️
