Hello, everyone. We hope you're all well.

For the week of March 23rd, we will be open with limited staff. For this reason we will be opening at noon and closing at 7pm Monday through Sunday. These will be our hours for the forseeable future.

Our distributors have advised us that we may experience shortages of some products this week, so it's possible that we won't have some of your favorites.

Think of this as your reason to try something new! Perhaps one of you will take a chance on the liter of pink grapefruit schnapps we ordered for someone 3 years ago and still have on the shelf! Or maybe not!

Finally, we know everyone is telling you to think not just of your own health but that of your friends and neighbors and... we're going to say it too. If the choice is between coming out for a bottle of wine or staying home and healthy, we encourage you to choose the latter. We'll still be here when we can all itch our noses again without worrying that we just gave ourselves COVID-19.

In the meantime, please consider putting the $10 you'd spend on a bottle of wine toward ordering take-out from one of our local restaurants. The State Liquor Authority is allowing restaurants to include alcoholic beverages in take-out orders during this shutdown. Remember, nothing makes you feel 20 again like booze in a red Solo cup.

As of Friday March 20th, the State of New York is still allowing wine & liquor stores to operate as usual. It's wonderful to be considered an "essential business!"

We will be open Saturday the 21st normal hours, 10am-8pm, but to safeguard the health of our employees, we do expect to have changes to hours for the coming week; please check back here for updates.

Also, we've been advised by the State Liquor Authority to check with them daily for updates to status as essential. If we are ordered to close, we will update everyone immediately.

Cooperstown Wine & Spirits is having a big weekend Pioneer Street Construction Sale!

From Thursday September 21st to Sunday September 24th we'll be trying to clear our shelves for some construction work of our own next week while they're tearing up Pioneer St.

From Thursday to Sunday, all wines in the store are automatically 10% off and all spirits are 5% on single bottles.

Every day year-round we offer a 10% discount on mixed half cases and 20% on mixed full cases of wine, but from the September 21st to Sunday the 24th, those discounts go to 15% off for mixed half-case (6 bottles of wine) and 25% off for mixed full cases (12 bottles) of wine.

Add a bottle of any spirit in the store to your half- or full case and the spirit discount goes from 5% to 10%!

And for the first time ever we are offering a big discount on unbroken cases of wine. Purchase 1 full case of 12 bottles of the same wine and get 30% off the regular price!

Cooperstown Wine & Spirits will be closed Monday September 25th through Thursday September 28th, so come in and get our best discounts ever this weekend.

So it's hot and humid, which let us face facts, after the winter we experienced we have all been looking forward to. But it is Tuesday, a busy work day, and who has the time or where with all to do a sangria from scratch...not me!

Here is your solution. Opici has a beautiful white sangria, in a 3 liter box that is a very nice pre-made, open the box, and pour the glass sangria.

Not too sweet, not too tart. Very affordable. Come and taste it today and tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow as well because it is a box and it will hold nicely in your fridge!

Why drink a Gewürztraminer? Why not? Yes, they are a sweeter wine, but in the way lychees are sweet. In the way honey is sweet. Not like eating a tablespoon of sugar.

Here is the good news, if you do not care for sweet, this grape varietal also produces wines that are crisp and dry. Yes, a dry Gewürztraminer. They do exist.

Gewürztraminers from California and Washington state tend to fall on the sweeter end of the spectrum, those from Alsace on the crisp dry side.

Either way these are a fun summer wine. Stop in and taste Pacific Rim Gewürztraminer from Washington state...and I snuck in a red blend, Wild Meadows also from Washington state, to taste as well!

Tiki Sauvignon Blanc tasting today and tomorrow. Come in for a sip than plan dinner. This engaging citrusy (not sweet!) wine pairs well with lush foods. Think guacamole, molé sauces, asian bbq, and even jerk chicken!
