Healthier featuring spice-marinated dabs (didn’t know that was a fish until today) from our most recent delivery. Keeping it fairly simple & fresh with butterhead lettuce, slaw made with homemade ranch dressing & avocado topped with fresh lime, cotija & a little . Was a lovely pairing with this vibrant & savory Vidiano from out of Crete, Greece 👌🏼

It’s been way too long since we’ve had a post - totally my bad! Last night, he whipped up a picanha steak (from our delivery), topped with chimichurri, and served with sides of yucca fries & street corn salad. The picanha was sous vide in the morning and then grilled on high heat for a short time before serving. I chose the .roero Grignolino d’Asti to pair, served chilled. This wine is light & fresh but also savory & dry so complimented the freshness of the sauce & salad but still stood up to the picanha, while also being refreshing. You can grab a bottle of the Grignolino at either Barrel & Vine or by-the-glass 🍷

**APRIL SPOTLIGHTS: EASTER WINES**

For this month’s spotlight wines, we have chosen 6 interesting wines that pair with traditional Easter fare. Included in this month’s line-up are:

•Marrone ‘Tre Fie’ Arneis (Piedmont, Italy): a precise balance of citrus, floral, mineral & savory components with a nice weight through the mid-palate and a long, fresh finish making this wine a great pairing for savory spring side dishes and salty ham. $25
•Carminucci Offida Pecorino ‘Belato’ (Marche, Italy): the fruit here leans more toward orchard & tropical, it has a little more weight and a distinct cheese rind characteristic while still maintaining a complimentary acidity. While another good option for poultry & pork dishes, I really want to drink this with dauphinoise potatoes. $17
•Alessandro di Camporeale ‘Benede’ Cataratto (Sicily, Italy): flavors here shift more toward softer notes of stone fruit (white peach, apricot) & citrus blossoms with a slight honeyed nuttiness which would make this a great pairing for white fish, poultry or pasta in light cream sauces. $17
•Maggio Vini ‘Rappatu’ Frappato (Sicily, Italy): if you’re looking for an interesting light red, look no further than this wine. Similar in weight to Pinot Noir, this wine is full of fresh, bright berry fruit balanced by savory bramble bush and white pepper notes making it a great pairing for Easter ham and spring vegetable side dishes. $19
•Domaine Rimbert ‘Les Travers’ Saint-Chinian Rouge (Languedoc-Roussillon, France): for meals leaning toward darker meat (lamb, beef), we head over to France where we find this crowd- & budget-pleasing blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault & Carignan full of plush fruit, crushed stone minerality & savory wild herbs. Give it a slight chill & enjoy. $16
•Domaine Maby ‘La Fermade’ Lirac (Rhone Valley, France): a typical blend of Grenache, Syrah & Mourvedre from small appellation in the southern Rhone, this wine presents with concentrated, powerful dark fruits and purple flowers, broody forest floor notes and plush tannins to pair with your richer dishes. $22
