Nancy Mace said what a lot of taxpayers have been thinking for years, and she didn't dress it up. Personal medical choices are exactly that, personal, and the bill for them shouldn't land on the shoulders of people who never signed up to pay for someone else's procedure.

Public funds are meant for shared needs, roads, defense, emergency services, not elective decisions made by individuals about their own bodies. Drawing that line isn't cruelty, it's basic fiscal responsibility applied evenly instead of selectively.

Say what you want about the delivery, but the underlying point is hard to argue with.
