Dear friends & neighbors,
After a lot of thought and many long conversations, we’ve made the incredibly hard decision to close the Whiskey Loves Basil store. ♥️ This shop has been a labor of love, and we truly gave it everything we had.
We have so loved creating a space and connecting with so many incredible people over the past two years. But in this climate, rising costs, and massive corporations to compete with, it has become clear that continuing would require sacrifices to our families without real security in return. And that’s not a risk we’re willing to keep taking.
We’re so proud of what we built, so grateful for this community, and deeply thankful to every artist, customer, and supporter who walked through our door and cheered us on.
We’ll be hopefully selling through the rest of the shop this month, and keeping you all up to date as things unfold.
This all started with Geniece wanting a place to share her love and passion for all things shaken and stirred, then turned into a workshop business, and then the brick and mortar. While the shop did not exactly pan out the way we had planned, that passion is still there and this is still a place where creativity can be expressed. Even though this chapter of Whiskey Loves Basil is ending, stay tuned, because you just never know where life will take you next.
Thank you so much to our friends, family, vendors, and fellow business owners who gave advice, lended a hand, and have even sometimes been a literal shoulder to cry on. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of something that has meant so much to us and will live forever in our hearts.
