Well I have neglected my duties recently. A lot has happened since I started this post ten years ago. At that time Over the Rhine was not an assured thing. At that time I had not traced my relatives to their first landing in the USA 170 years ago in OTR at the corner of E. Clifton and Frintz St. because both streets were called a different name when they moved there. At that time I was recalling my Great Grandpa and his life 100 years ago, trying to imagine an urban life lived today. It should have been My Great Great Grandpa but the walkable lively life they lived in is happening now.
Imagine 5,000 rose plants now growing on Stark St. Many active restaurants serving and admired by region wide patrons, Imagine that OTR was an entertainment hub again. Imagine even Vine St lined with open vibrant vendors bars and beer gardens as busy as they were a hundred years ago. It all has happened in just ten years from when I dreamed that it could. This journey also chronicled the path of what went on in that ten years both serious and funny the success and the tragedies, the brick by brick building of the dream. Going back in the posts gives a step by step of the life of a Great Great grandson's dream and the dream of many to bring back a most wonderful neighborhood to its vibrant life again.
