You may have noticed we have some plastic flamingos outside our store and cafe. While plastic isn't really our thing, they were donated by a customer who didn't know what else to do with them. Reusing IS our thing, so we put 6 of them out front. Three of them have "vanished." It seems unlikely that it's our customers who vanished them because y'all are a wholesome bunch. We have two bars nearby, and it's a well-known fact that drunk people cannot resist flamingos. But what we'd like folks to know is that we have MORE in storage, and we are happy to have y'all steal these flamingos if they are going to be loved and enjoyed elsewhere. So steal away! Or come in and ask. Whatever you're more comfortable with. We LOVE getting things out of storage.

From the very beginning The Eco Flamingo has been built around community input and we have loved creating a place that fulfills the needs of so many wonderful humans!

Over the years we have received countless requests to add a section for fresh foods, and we’re very excited to finally be making it happen 🥳

Join us tomorrow evening in our Eco Cafe for our monthly community social, featuring guest speaker Jessica Davis, Development and Programs Manager for the Global Garden Refugee Training Farm in Albany Park!

The mission of is to improve access to fresh vegetables for newly arrived refugee families and their urban neighbors; feed the souls of displaced farmers through re-connection with the soil and food production; provide supplemental income for participating refugee farmers; and foster new, refugee-operated farms.

Come learn about the important work being done by this incredible, wonderful organization, and support them Saturdays 10-2 in April and May at their fresh produce pop-up, also in our Eco Cafe!

Our community social goes from 6:30-8:30pm, light snacks and drinks are provided and you can order from the menu! It is FREE to attend and you can RSVP through the link below, hope to see you all there! 🥬🦩
