Cloudy days call for cheerful wine, and this week’s Pour of the Week understood the assignment. ☔️🍷

We opened the Point of Contact Skin Contact Pinot Gris from Approach Wine Company because sometimes you just need a bottle that feels like a little burst of sunshine when the weather outside isn’t quite cooperating.

This Oregon Pinot Gris gets a short period of skin contact during fermentation, giving it that gorgeous coppery-salmon hue along with extra texture and personality compared to a typical crisp white. The result is bright and refreshing, but with a little more depth and intrigue in the glass.

Expect notes of strawberry, blood orange, peach skin, grapefruit peel, and a subtle savory edge that keeps you coming back for another sip. It drinks somewhere between a rosé and a light orange wine — juicy, vibrant, textured, and incredibly food friendly.

Basically: a happy wine for a dreary week. Come grab a glass at Stems while it lasts!

This week’s Pour of the Week is one that kept disappearing from glasses at our last tasting 🍷✨

The Fattoria La Rivolta “Vigneti di Bruma” Rosato is a rosé from Campania in southern Italy, made primarily from Aglianico — a grape that’s usually known for deep, structured reds. In rosé form, though, it becomes something totally different: fresh and mineral-driven, with notes of wild strawberry, watermelon rind, blood orange, and a little hint of rose petals and Mediterranean herbs. There’s a subtle salinity to it too that makes it incredibly food friendly and dangerously easy to keep sipping.

It’s crisp without being sharp, fruity without being sweet, and has a little more depth and texture than your average poolside rosé.

This was one of the clear favorites from last month’s tasting, so we brought it back as this week’s Pour of the Week while it lasts.

And speaking of tastings — we still have tickets available for our Chocolate + Wine Tasting this Thursday at 6pm 🍫🍷 Come hang out with us for a fun, relaxed evening of pairings, wine talk, and chocolate science (or at least chocolate excuses).

Pour of the Week: May 5 - 10 🌿🍷

We’re going GREEN this week at Stems—and we mean that in every sense.

We’re pouring Brisa Suave Vinho Verde from Portugal—a classic example of what makes this region so refreshing, and a brand new arrival for us here at Stems.

Light-bodied with a slight natural spritz, this wine shows crisp acidity and clean, bright notes of lime, green apple, and a touch of white peach. There’s a subtle salinity on the finish that keeps it lively and incredibly drinkable.

“Vinho Verde” (literally “green wine”) refers to its youthful, vibrant character—picked early to preserve that fresh acidity and zippy energy in the glass.

If you like wines that are crisp, low-alcohol, and refreshingly straightforward, this one hits the mark.. Grab it while it lasts this week (and at $6/glass we don’t think it will last long!)

🍷 Stems Pour of the Week 🍷

Say hello to a fresh take on Rioja 👇

Artuke Rioja 2024
From Arturo de Miguel in Baños de Ebro, this is not your heavy, overly oaked Rioja. It’s bright, lifted, and a little more modern—while still rooted in tradition.

Think:
🍒 Fresh red cherry + raspberry
🌿 Subtle herbal notes
🪵 Just a whisper of oak (if any)
⚡ Light-bodied with vibrant acidity

This is a younger Rioja that leans into fruit purity and drinkability—made from primarily Tempranillo, grown at higher elevations for that fresh, energetic profile.

Not a wine nerd? Here’s the simple version:
It’s a smooth, easy-drinking red that’s not too heavy, not too dry, and super approachable. Think “glass on the porch” or “pairs with just about anything” kind of wine 🍷

Come try it this week before it’s gone! This one’s not usually by the glass OR on the shelves - we were just able to sneak one case this week 😉

We’re adding this beauty to our by the glass menu (temporarily)! It’s Pour of the Week time 🍷

Introducing Naracu Cannonau di Sardegna (D.O.C.) – Surrau

This week we’re pouring Cannonau, Sardinia’s flagship red—genetically identical to Grenache, but with a distinctly Mediterranean edge thanks to the island’s sun, wind, and granite-rich soils.

It’s a really solid example of how place shapes a grape you might think you already know.

Naracu is medium-bodied with a core of ripe red cherry, raspberry, and a touch of dried fig. There’s a subtle thread of wild herbs (think thyme and rosemary), plus a hint of spice from time in oak. Tannins are soft and rounded, with enough structure to keep it balanced, and the acidity keeps everything lifted.

It’s also known as a ‘Blue Zone’ wine—Sardinia is one of the regions in the world where people live the longest, and Cannonau is often pointed to for its high levels of antioxidants.

Come try a glass while it lasts! 🍷 🌿
