The story of Langtry Wines begins in 1888 when legendary British actress and socialite Lillie Langtry purchased a massive 4,000-acre ranch in California's Guenoc Valley. She pioneered winemaking in the region, famously declaring her bottled claret the best in America before selling the estate in 1906.
