It’s time for some real bourbon talk.

Our latest Steward Select release of Angel’s Envy Bourbon (110 proof) is an absolute showstopper—rich, bold, and beautifully balanced. But here’s the honest truth: for reasons we can’t quite figure out, these bottles don’t fly off the shelf like some of our other releases.

What sets these Steward Select single barrels apart is just how much deeper, richer, and more expressive they are compared to the standard 86.6 proof Angel’s Envy. Bottled at 110 proof, they showcase the full character of the spirit—more oak, more spice, and way more complexity. You still get that signature port barrel finish, but with layers of intensity and nuance that just don’t show up in the regular shelf version. These aren’t just stronger—they’re more interesting, more dynamic, and genuinely special.

That said—this is easily one of our favorite barrels of the year.

Expect notes of dark cherry, burnt orange peel, spiced maple, and toasted oak, all carried on a silky, full-bodied structure with a warm, lingering finish. The extra proof adds complexity without sacrificing elegance.

If you’re a bourbon lover looking for a bottle that punches well above its weight and hasn’t been overhyped, this is it.

We’re releasing two carefully chosen Steward Select Single Barrel picks from Bardstown Bourbon Company — each selected for its individual character, informed by rickhouse location, floor, and production details.

🥃 Bardstown Origin Series Single Barrel
• Mashbill: 60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley
• Rickhouse D | Floor 4
• 121 Proof (60.5% ABV)
• Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Drawn from the middle floors of Rickhouse D, this barrel expresses a layered and spice-driven profile. Aromas of toasted caramel, charred oak, and baking spice lead into a palate of pecan, vanilla bean, and a touch of citrus rind. The finish is dry, structured, and lingers with fine-grained tannin and pepper. For those of you remember our first Btown release fondly, you’re going to love this bittle, it has that same oily finish.

• Mashbill: 95% rye, 5% malted barley
• Rickhouse A | Floor 6
• 127.6 Proof (63.8% ABV)
• Rye Whiskey Finished in “Zebra Barrels”

This high-floor barrel highlights Bardstown’s unique “Zebra Barrel” finishing process, which alternates staves of new charred oak with toasted Cherry Wood that gives a unique Rock-n-Rye flavor. The result is a layered and texturally rich rye. Aromatics show light herbal spice, graham cracker, and oak resin. On the palate: toffee, baked grain, and a distinctly molasses-like finish that provides welcome sweetness and viscosity to balance the substantial proof. Bold but not brash.
