An earth thirst outstanding wine! 100% timorasso, a very old Piedmontese indigenous variety, nearly lost to other varietals in the 1960/70s. CASCINA LA GHERSA cultivate their vineyards with the utmost respect for nature, using organic treatments, grass coverage and no chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides.

Dry, full bodied. Intense, brilliant, pale yellow. Aromas of mineral and chamomile, then hints of tropical fruits; a delicate and pleasant smokiness. Good body and balance thanks to the good acidity that supports the structure well. Elegant, complex; good length and intensity."

"The name “Sivoy” comes from an Italian word meaning “slide” (scivolo) or “slipping” (scivolare) because the soil of the Sivoy hill, where these grapes are grown, is clayey and hard, the rain-water slips down very fast to the bottom of the valley and pools into natural, small wells.
