Yes, we’ve seen the TikTok. 😂 And judging by the comments, so have many of the customers who actually know us, shop with us, and know how we run our business.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has spoken up on our behalf. After serving this community for years, we’ve learned that a reputation isn’t built—or undone—by one person with a camera. It’s built by the people who walk through our doors every day.

And to the lady who made the video: If you’re ever in our area again, and can find a parking spot, come on in and try one of our chocolate chip cookies. We think you could use something sweet. 😉

SWAIN COUNTY VOTERS******
This is important. Vote YES. Approve the referendums that will allow b**r and w**e sales outside city limits. This will generate revenue and sales taxes for our county not to mention create opportunities for new businesses OUTSIDE city limits. This change is long overdue. I have been working on this with the commissioners for a while. The Nantahala General Store has been in business for almost forty years without the ability to sell b**r and w**e to our customers while resorts are allowed to. Resorts OUTSIDE city limits and one mile from us. My general store employs four local families. We need the freedom to compete! The flood hit right before color season which is a crucial time for the Nantahala Gorge. We rely on tourism and guests who appreciate our beautiful area. This is how we buy groceries and pay for soccer cleats. It is so important to not only me but multiple other business owners who will benefit. So many counties around us allow b**r and w**e sales outside city limits. We are behind in the times. I say, we as Swain county business owners should have the right to sell b**r and w**e to our customers. The freedom to grow our businesses and support our families and communities. PLEASE VOTE YES to ON PREMISE and OFF PREMISE sales of b**r and w**e! PLEASE SHARE****

Just a reminder that there are still many towns in Western North Carolina that are open and ready for visitors. If you’re on your way to Gatlinburg these are great places to stop and explore for a night!
