This deer season, help Indiana’s hungry by donating your harvested deer to Indiana Hunt for Hunger. After hunting, take your field-dressed deer to a participating meat processor where the meat will be turned into healthy venison burgers and donated to area food banks. Indiana Hunt for Hunger pays the processing fees. Find a list of participating vendors at on.IN.gov/huntforhunger

Treat every firearm w/the respect due a loaded gun. 3. Be sure of the target and what is in front of it and beyond it. 4. Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until ready to shoot.

Help feed hungry Hoosiers this year by donating your harvested deer. One donated deer can provide 200 meals for one family. After harvesting and field-dressing a deer, drop it off deer to a participating processor. The processor processes and distributes venison burger to Indiana food banks. The processing fees are funded through the Sportsmen’s Benevolence Fund. In 2020, more than 20,000 pounds of venison were donated.

Fall is a fantastic time of year for some free fishing! This Saturday, Sept. 28 is Indiana's final free fishing day for 2024. All Indiana residents can Indiana residents can fish for free; a fishing license or trout/salmon stamp is not needed. Kids 17 and under are free. If you already have a license, consider introducing a friend, neighbor or someone else to this great hobby! Find a public fishing location at on.IN.gov/where2fish.
