A. Smith Bowman Cask Strength Bourbon is the result of continuous year-long tastings to blend the best barrels available. Hand-selected by Distiller David Bock, this year’s release has been aged a minimum of ten years and presents itself at 139.7 proof

Bottled uncut and non chill-filtered, this bourbon boasts aromas rich of leather, plums and a hint of apple; Cask Strength #4 coats the tongue with a soft raspberry chocolate note, rich stone fruit flavors and a little cinnamon. The finish features a crisp note of apple.

“It’s rare to taste a high proof bourbon with such a colorful flavor profile,” said Bock. “Our Cask Strength series is meant to give whiskey enthusiasts a delicious, bold and authentic tasting experience. I believe those who try Cask Strength #4 will be very pleased with this latest release.”

Old Forester 1924 10 Year Old is a limited annual release celebrating another milestone in Old Forester’s storied history.

During Prohibition, more than 200 distilleries were forced to close. Old Forester, however, continued operations because the federal government issued us one of six medicinal licenses, P-3. In 1924, Old Forester acquired barrels from closed distillers, with different mash bills, and bottled that liquid as Old Forester. This release commemorates that moment in time.

This 2025 edition features Heaven Hill’s Wheat Whiskey mashbill, comprised of 51% Wheat, 37% Corn, 12% Malted Barley and is bottled at 100 proof. With an age statement of 19 years, this release is made up of 277 barrels produced in August and September of 2005, that were aged on the 5th and 6th floors of rickhouse Y. To date, it is the oldest Wheat Whiskey released by Heaven Hill.
With its subtle nose of seasoned oak and honey sweetness followed by elements of clove and nutmeg, this edition of the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection has all the hallmarks of a classic Wheat Whiskey enhanced by the extended time spent in the rickhouse. A testament to its age, the initial notes on the palate include aged oak and baking spices particularly cloves. These elements are followed by rich and sweet notes of cinnamon graham crackers. The finish is warm, but medium in length dominated by maple syrup and caramel sweetness along with tannic elements adding a peppery tingle.

“This 19-year-old Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey is especially unique, as a product with this mashbill at this age offers an exceptional depth and complexity that is rarely seen,” says Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll. “It truly represents the high standard that Heaven Hill is known for and is a great example of how craftsmanship and patience can pay off when you’re willing to wait for the highest-quality product to come from the Whiskey-making process.”

Now in its third year, the annual cask strength offering showcases the excellence in craft distilling bourbon enthusiasts have come to expect from A. Smith Bowman Distillery.

A. Smith Bowman Cask Strength Bourbon is the result of continuous year-long tasting to blend the best barrels available. Hand-selected by Distiller David Bock, this year’s release is 135.1 proof and aged a minimum of nine years.

“When tasting through our barrel inventory, the 9-year-old barrels had a wonderful complexity and sweetness that I wanted to incorporate into this blend,” said Bock. “We believe our Cask Strength Whiskey is about crafting the best possible cask strength whiskey we can provide from our stocks. I’m excited for fans to try this year’s release!”

Bottled uncut and non chill-filtered, this bourbon boasts aromas of candy apples and strong maple; the palate offers pronounced sweet raisins and vanilla flavors, followed by toasted toffee. The tasting experience starts with very soft notes that continue to build toward a strong crispy finish indicative of higher proof bourbon.

Nose:
Brighter and more fruit forward than the Stagg. A rich berry compote, a drizzle of honey, an array of baking spices and a toasted oak note rounds us out.

Palate:
There’s a luscious red fruit note, almost like raspberries. It has an excellent texture, though not quite as luxurious as the George T Stagg. A nice bit of wood, and brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts.

This limited-release whiskey is a sumptuous marriage of rye whiskeys finished in Port barrels. The rye forms a beautiful base of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon while the port barrels provide notes of plum, dried fruit, and spice. Like a proper holiday plum pudding, it's brimming with lovely mulling spices, dried fruits, and crème anglaise. Sip it slowly through the coldest night.
Nose
Brandied cherries, fig jam, sun-dried raisins, dried orange peel, baking spice, French oak toast.
Taste
Quince paste, strawberry rhubarb crumble, vanilla caramel, molasses, toffee, leather.
How to Enjoy
We recommend that you enjoy this special spirit neat, due to its many layers of complexity, next to a warm fire as the snow piles up on the window sill. It also pairs beautifully with fig cookies!
