2026 CARPET OVAL TRACK SPOTLIGHT: Jammer's Raceway
Jammer’s Raceway has established itself as a dedicated haven for R/C racing enthusiasts. Located at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana, the track was built around a singular vision: providing a pure, racing-focused environment.
A RICH INDIANAPOLIS LEGACY
The track’s history is deeply rooted in local motorsports lore. Formerly known as Turfburners, the venue was originally built, owned, and operated by Jamie "Jammer" Ferrell-a legendary figure in regional and national motorsports. Ferrell was a multi-time national karting champion, a Midwest Speedway Kart Racing Hall of Fame inductee, and the winningest driver in the history of the International Kart Federation. He poured his immense passion for racing into Turfburners, cementing a tight-knit local racing community.
After Ferrell’s passing in March 2023, operations changed hands, and the track became known as Pro-Source RC Raceway. In late 2025, Rob Lennox and Jason Ewers reopened the facility under the name “Jammer’s Raceway”, honoring Jamie Ferrell’s legacy. For Lennox, track ownership seems to represent a full-circle moment. His career in the R/C industry began at age 13 followed by employment at a Chicago-area hobby shop during high school. Rob jumped back into the hobby in 2020 and has most recently transitioned into the role of R/C track owner, alongside Ewers.
FACILITY & TRACK SPECS
• The Surface: A high-traction 96' × 48' CRC black carpet track built over a recently installed subfloor for optimal racing performance.
• The Program: Off-road, on-road, and oval racing configurations are all hosted under one roof on an alternating schedule.
• Trackside Support: Located right inside the building, Al’s Hobby Shop provides racers with instant, trackside access to kits, tires, supplies, and high-demand replacement parts. To ensure our oval racing community has the parts they need without the wait, Ovalwerks has officially partnered with Jammer's Raceway and Al’s Hobby Shop as an authorized trackside dealer. RACING PROGRAM & POPULAR CLASSES
Jammer’s Raceway caters to both seasoned veterans and rising competitors. Two of its most prominent oval classes include:
• Box Stock NASCAR: consistently drawing large entry fields and delivering fierce, competitive action.
• Rubber Tire Truck (RTT): A rapidly growing class that local drivers frequently use as a stepping stone into high-performance pan car racing.
ENTRY FEES & PIT SPOTS
• First Class Entry: $25
• Additional Classes: $15 each
• Pit Member Incentive: Drivers who rent a monthly pit spot receive a 50% discount on all race entry fees.
