One of our favorite summer staples is back!
This semi-carbonic, ultra light and juicy red pays homage to Thomas Jefferson’s visit to Piedmont in 1787, where he enjoyed the local Nebbiolo, which was much lighter, softer, and fruitier than the style we are familiar with today.
G.D. Vajra wanted to recreate this forgotten style of Nebbiolo. “J.C.” stands for Jefferson and Corti, honoring both Jefferson and Darrell Corti, who challenged the Vajra family to recreate the wine.
The wine is made using partial carbonic maceration then finished in pressurized tanks to achieve a light spritz. Bright acidity and silky tannins are accompanied by notes of wild cherry, orange peel, and florals. Bring it to a barbecue, sip on it around a campfire, or pair with your favorite light summer fare.
Cheers! 🍷🥂
