Since joining ProPoint Cooperative in 2020, Cory Vorderbruggen has served as General Manager/CEO, helping guide the cooperative through nearly six years of growth and change.
When Cory looks back on his time at ProPoint, one of the things heโs most proud of isnโt a building, a number, or a particular project. Itโs the people. Heโs proud of the staff ProPoint has built and the way they work together as a team. ๐ค
Under Coryโs leadership, ProPoint Cooperative has grown significantly, including the addition of Baker and Hettinger as new locations with Agronomy offices, along with the construction of the main office and Agronomy buildings in Bowman. ๐พ๐๏ธ
Cory has focused on strategic growth that keeps the cooperative moving forward while maintaining a strong financial foundation. His philosophy has been simple: grow, but donโt grow so quickly that it creates unnecessary cash flow challenges.
When asked what heโll miss most, his answer is the same thing he says has been his favorite part: the people. Both the coworkers heโs worked alongside and the customers who have supported ProPoint over the years.
Cory will be taking on a new challenge in November as he heads to Stanley, ND, to become part of Pinnacle Cooperative. While weโll be sad to see him go, weโre excited to see where this next chapter takes him.
Before he goes, Cory has a little advice for the ProPoint team: donโt be afraid to try new things, and donโt be afraid to fail. Failure happens, but itโs also how progress is made.
And, of course, we couldnโt let Cory leave without sharing one of his favorite stories. During the construction of the Agronomy building, Cory and David Timm found themselves arguing over how many windows the building really needed. Cory wanted fewer windows to keep the project cost down. David wanted to keep them all. A compromise that worked in Cory's favor came about.
Outside of work, golf and bowling have been a fun part of Coryโs time in Bowman, giving him plenty of opportunities to meet people, travel, and make memories along the way. ๐๏ธ๐ณ
Cory, thank you for your leadership, your willingness to try new things, and the vision youโve brought to ProPoint. Weโre grateful for everything youโve helped build, and weโll be cheering you on as you take on your next challenge. ๐
