Another day of wide open albacore with 50 good quality tuna by 1pm. We started off the morning with the first line in the water getting hit and continued to put 20 mid grade albacore in the boat in the first hour and a half of fishing. We had several quads hookups and a 5 way in the mix with several fish coming in on jigs. The bite slowed for a few hours then we found a pocket of fish to the west and quickly gathered up another 30 fish with everything from doubles to a 6 way in the mix with many fish hitting the jigs on every stop. By 1pm we tossed in the towel and pointed home with 50 albacore that were close to a 20lb average and several fish in the upper 20 to lower 30lb range. We had nearly 1000lbs of fish on the boat and just about everyone's arms were pretty tired. Again the epic bite continues and the decks are staying bloody.

The solid tuna action continues. Yesterday we headed our to our same area out of Fort bragg and quickly found a lot more bird action than previous days with no boats in sight. We had a pretty solid bite first thing in the morning and picked up 18 fish by 9am with mostly doubles and a few triples on the troll. Then the fish went down and we had to go back on the hunt. We did Find a few logs and had what acted like a yellowtail but the fish popped off unfortunately. In the early afternoon we found some good bird piles with tons of jumpers underneath. We chased around bird piles and were able to pick up some bigger troll fish and also got dialed in on the jigs and picked up about 10 fish on the jigs and lost many more. We ended the day with 35 mid to larger grade longfins with probaly a 18lb average. Super fun day with awsome clients and some really good action when it turned on. Got some wind for the next few days but looking forward to get back out there and getting more bloody decks!

The albacore action continues out of Fort Bragg. Today the bite was a bit slower for us, we had to work for our fish but still managed to end the day with 33 mid grade albacore with a 15lb average. We did mange to pick up about 8 fish today sliding irons so that kept things exciting with with a lot short strikes and fish popping off on the jigs. Overall a fun day with plenty of action and we are back at it again tomorrow.

Today we kicked off our 2025 albacore season with a bang. With 3 clients who rented the whole boat, we headed west out of fort bragg and quickly found a pretty steady bite with a 5 way to start things off early in the morning. As the day went on the bite slowed but we kept working away picking up singles and doubles. Around noon we decided to start tossing jigs out and successfully converted a troll stop to jigs to pick up 6 fish on the irons. Our group called it quits with 30 good grade albacore with a a roughly 15lb average and a few outstanding fish in the mid to upper 20lb range. Overall an epic day to shake off the rust snd looking forward to what this week brings us.

Here’s a few shots from some trips Billy and I ran throughout last week while Captain Ryan worked on getting things ready to move the Bigeye up to Fort Bragg. ALL trips, had limits of Rockies and lingcod counts ranging from couple to up to 8 boxed. Ryan boxed a couple albacore while moving the boat north, and is running our first tuna charter of the season as I write this. We are pleased with what we are seeing as the fall tuna season is starting to take shape!! Get in the books and don’t miss out on this amazing fishery!! Another weekend of wide open lingcod action out of Bodega Bay. Friday we had limits of lingcod up to 18lb, and limits of rockfish, Saturday had similar results with a solid lingcod bite. And today ( Sunday) we had a group wanting some halibut so we charged north, gathered limits of jumbo lings with a solid 12lb average and near limits of rockfish. Afterword we quickly jigged up some nice herring and anchovies and made a few drifts to pick up 2 halibut. We had a a few larger stripers chew off our line and a few missed opurtunities in our short time chasing halibut.

Another day of solid lingcod action out of Bodega Bay. After a few days of slower lingcod action, the bite turned back on. This morning we had to make a few stops to find decent action, but once we got on them, we sure found a steady bite and gathered up quick limits of lings and rockfish on the bigeye. The Sorta Salty was two lingcod shy of limits but had plenty of jumbo black and blue rockfish to make up for it. Overall, another great day of inshore action.

Yesterday we had some big swells to start the day, but our group stuck out the long ride north and was rewarded with a wide open rockfish and lingcod bite, and we quickly limited on both by noon. To make the day even more special, we had join us and capture some pretty awesome moments between the fog and swells. The few pictures captured here are just a handful of the awesome gallery he created and will definitely be sharing over the next few weeks. Overall, another epic day and very happy to have it all captured from a new perspective!

Another day of great lingcod action. Today we had flat seas and slower but still very solid lingcod bite. We fished a variety of depths but found the best action in deeper waters ending the day with client and crew limits of lings and client limits of rockfish by noon with several lings weighing in the high teens. Lots of calm weather in the forcast and the guys up north have been doing well on tuna so I expect to start seeing some here in the near future.

Yesterday on the Bigeye we had a group of 5 who scored limits of great quality lingcod and 1 crew ling plus limits of rockfish. We fished a wide variety of depths and had to work to get all of our lingcod but the work was worth the effort with the biggest ling well above the 20lb mark and several honorable mentions in the mid teens. Overall another Epic day of lingcod fishing.
The weather is starting to lay down and the fishing remains hot. We have a lot of trips going within the next week so if your looking to get some lingcod its a great time to get out there.

Managed 50 Rockies and 5 lingcod before pulling the plug due to 🤮 folks feeding the fish!! I will say in their defense, it was pretty mixed up from the word go. Fish are still chomping and we have THE BIGEYE AVAILABLE THIS SATURDAY.
