Little chunky in the morning with a slow low tide bite, but it flattened out, Tide came up, and the lingcod started chomping. Had a light load of 4, but we still managed all of our Rockies and lingcod, plus a couple crew lingcod on top of that! A new regular, John Lavoy, and his crew came out from Nevada for 2 days of rockfish and lingcod fishing!! Limits of both, both days, plus crew ling! They had a huge fish fry Satirday evening between each trip to keep it within their limits possession wise. They were biting on everything, but were really chomping on new ling rig! TONS of great fishing to be had out of bodega bay right now… we will also be opening select dates for rockfish halibut combos beginning in June. These will be 4 packs ran on the sorta salty, targeting rockfish while the tides get right, then switch over to halibut to finish the day!!

Yesterday, we ran our first deepwater trip of the year in search of jumbo rockfish and monster lingcod. It took a bit to find some good biters, but once we got on them, we piled on solid limits of lingcod, up to 25 lbs, with almost all of the lings weighing in the mid-teens. We also had a tasty limit of yellows, widows, canaries, and a few bocaccios. The weather was flat calm all day, and we made quick time to the offshore grounds in just about an hour from leaving the dock. Overall, another great day out of Bodega Bay, and clients left with several massive bags of fillets each.

Today was the first day of 2026 running both boats and the conditions could have not been more ideal. Calm seas, cold blue water and a solid lingcod bite kept things epic to get dailed in. Both the Sorta Salty with Capt Billy at the wheel and the Bigeye with Capt Josh and I had easy limits of quality lingcod to 18lbs and a handfull on nice canaries and reds to 7lbs. We do have one spot left for our offshore rockcod/lingcod trip for sunday and its going to be epic with 2 ft swells and zero wind, plus this epic of an inshore bite means the offshore will be nuts. Contact us ASAP to grab that spot at a discounted inshore rate.

Had another great day of fishing with an open charter of 6 folks. Ended with limits of Rockies plus 11 lings! Hunter got his personal best, that seemed to push 30 lbs! Wind is coming early next week but we hope to get back out there by next weekend! Give us a call or book online!

Captain Billy and Logan had a wonderful day of fishing with the Jones family yesterday!… headed north to glass house and ocean cove to limit on their rockfish and 4ing to boot! With the 70 degree weather and flat afternoon, you couldn’t ask for a better day!!…give us a call or book online, the fish are chomping and winter is long gone!!

Had a great Friday, Saturday, Sunday opener for North Bay this weekend! Great clients all 3 days with limits of Rockies for each group! Friday we had 4 lingcod, Saturday 11, and Sunday another 10 more. Well over 100 hundred fish and 25 toothy ones!!! Couple seats left for Thursday’s good weather and the lingcod are chomping!
