There's no better way to see what wine style you prefer than by comparing different wines - and that's our theme in the Sampling Tavern this week! Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand goes up against a Loire Valley wine, Riesling from Austria compared to German Riesling, Tuscan Sangiovese v Piedmont Barbera and we even have a Mexican GSM (+N for Nebbiolo) to compare against a classic and delicious Cotes du Rhone GSM! Need some tasty bubbles by the pool, at your picnic or on the deck? We now have these two tasty treats from Cantina di Carpi in Emilia Romagna. This is an alternative to the Glera grape used to make Prosecco, but still giving the fantastic frizzante bubbles we love in a easy access package. Priced not much more than the equivalent in a 750ml bottle, the Brut NotteBIANCA is made with the unique Pignoletto grape and is an homage to the beautiful initiative of friendship, culture, and interaction between people of all ages. Made from Salomino and Sorbara grapes, the NotteROSA is fruity and floral with a ye**ty perfume leading in to a dry, medium bodied bubbly, with great acidity, and a long finish.

We are looking forward to welcoming the Heartland Continuing Education students to our 'Introduction to Wine' class this afternoon at 4pm. It's such a beautiful day for a vino! And we have 16 new wines in our sampling dispensers to taste an ounce of or enjoy a whole glass! A recent area of fascination for me are the Eastern European wines. This Morava from Deuric is fresh and fragrant with peach, apple and citrus. The peach continues on the palate, tinted with lime, orange zest and minerals This is intriguingly delicious and perfect as we transition in to summer! We look forward to seeing you!

Last call for our New Zealand and Australia wine class for tomorrow. Starting at 4pm, we'll compare New Zealand Pinot Noirs, Sauvignon Blancs and Australian Riesling from different regions in 3 flights following some geography learning on each country. We'll also taste a Margaret River Chardonnay, Hunter Valley Semillon and a Muscat dessert wine. There are a few seats available to register for on the website. The rain looks to be settling in tomorrow afternoon, so let us brighten the day with some very tasty vino!
