If you ever pushed a car down the street just to get it started, you understand teamwork. Nobody complained, nobody waited for roadside assistance. You lined up, counted down, and pushed with everything you had. Someone jumped in, popped the clutch, and everyone held their breath. When the engine finally caught, it felt like a small victory. Greasy hands, tired legs, and big smiles followed. You didn’t call it a skill, you just called it life. Everyone helped because someday it might be your car.

Now everything comes with a button, a service, or a subscription. People don’t know their neighbors well enough to ask for help. Cars got smarter, but people got more disconnected. Back then, solving a problem together mattered more than convenience. You learned responsibility, effort, and trust in moments like that. No one filmed it, no one posted it. It was just people showing up. Those lessons stayed long after the car drove away.

Get jiggy with it! Join us at the Nature Center and try your hand at tying a jig. If you can tie a knot, you can tie a jig! This workshop includes a tying demonstration, information about fishing with jigs, and jig tying.
