Wrapping up the week after our Trick or Treat Event at 1880 Town has been so gratifying! Hearing how much fun everyone had and their plans to return next year has our staff excited!

BUT we have one last ANNOUNCEMENT to make!

This year, we introduced our first annual **Traveling Trophy Award** Recongizing one of our sponsoring businesses! This business not only caught our eye at the event, but their dedication to promoting and sharing the event with the community was outstanding! Each year, this trophy will be passed along to another deserving sponsor to proudly display.

CONGRATULATIONS TO Prairie Paws !

Not only did their booth feature some super cute four-legged friends, but they even had the one and only Kenny Rogers signing autographs!

Located just outside Murdo, South Dakota, Prairie Paws offers overnight dog boarding for your four-legged family members! They also have the cutest little bunkhouse full of goodies ready to purchase and take home with you! From fresh honey and home-raised bison meat (the very same bison we serve in our burgers at the 1880 Town Diner Car!) to Prairie Paws merch and even some fresh-baked cookies!

Our First Annual Halloween Costume Contest was a hit! With close to 100 entries, picking a winner in each category wasn't easy.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY!

Guests were able to choose which organization their donation supported while attending our 4th annual Trick or Treat Event.

We raised the following amounts
Murdo Volunteer Fire Department: $780.20
White River Volunteer Fire Department Mellette County : $367.60
Draper Community Fund: $558.25

The Murdo United Methodist Church Youth Group also collected TWO CARLOADS of nonperishable food!

A HUGE thank you to Le Ann Birkeland and her husband along with the youth group for taking the time to distribute these donations throughout our community!

THE WEATHER IS LOOKING GREAT FOR FRIDAY AT 1880 TOWN!

Mother Nature looks like she’s going to cooperate for our 4th Annual Trick or Treat Event!

With temperatures expected to reach the upper 50s during the day, we’re looking forward to a beautiful fall evening filled with Halloween fun!

Grab your costumes, round up the family and come enjoy an evening of trick-or-treating, games, costume contests and plenty of fun along Main Street!

Coffee Creations will be on site serving up delicious warm drinks and food, plus we’ll have a food trailer to keep everyone fueled for the festivities!

Admission is a nonperishable food donation for our local food bank or a cash donation supporting our participating nonprofit organizations.

COMING TO 1880 TOWN FOR TRICK OR TREATING? HERE'S HOW TO ENTER!

When you arrive, make your way to the large wooden gates on the north side of the big red barn. There, you'll be welcomed by the Murdo United Methodist Church Youth Group!

ADMISSION:
Be sure to bring a can of nonperishable food for the local food bank, or we would greatly appreciate a cash donation to our participating nonprofit organizations!

Once you're inside the town, pop over to our Best Dressed Costume backdrop to get your picture taken and enter our costume contest!

Grab a coffee or fall drink from our friends at Coffee Creations , then let the kids hit the streets and visit our many business sponsors to fill their candy bags!

And don't forget, we also have a food trailer serving up soup and sandwiches available for purchase!

We are ONE WEEK away from the 4th Annual Halloween Trick or Treat Event at 1880 Town!

October 30th, we’re opening up the town for an evening of trick-or-treating, games, activities and Halloween fun for the whole family!

Come dressed in your best costume! We’ll be handing out a Best Costume Award, and you never know what our animals might be dressed up as this year!
