It’s World Verdejo Day! 🍇🌍
Every June 13th, we celebrate Verdejo — Spain’s zesty, refreshing white grape that deserves a spot in your wine glass this summer. ☀️🍷

Hailing from the Rueda region in northwestern Spain, Verdejo is known for its vibrant acidity, citrusy zip, and subtle notes of green herbs, white peach, and sometimes a touch of almond or fennel. 🌿🍑🍋

It’s crisp like Sauvignon Blanc but with a bit more texture — making it a dream with seafood, grilled veggies, salads, or just a warm afternoon on the patio. 🐟🥗🌞

If you’ve never had Verdejo, today’s the perfect day to explore Spain’s white wine secret weapon — it’s bright, aromatic, affordable, and so food-friendly.

POLL:
Have you tried Verdejo before?
1️⃣ Yes — love its zesty vibes!
2️⃣ Not yet — adding it to my wine list!

vibes: Pizza night meets the perfect pour. 🍕🍷

This Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC is everything you want in an everyday red — fresh, juicy, and ridiculously food-friendly. Sustainably farmed in the sun-drenched hills of Abruzzo, this wine is made by Alana McGettigan, a winemaker who keeps it honest and delicious.

👁️ Color: Ruby red
👃 Aroma: Black cherry, plum, hints of coffee & chocolate ☕🍒🍫
👄 Taste: Medium-bodied with a soft texture and just enough earthiness from those ferrous clay & limestone soils.

This is the kind of bottle made for real life — pizza, pasta, roasted veggies, or a solo sip on the couch. Simple, soulful, and straight-up satisfying.

POLL:
What’s your go-to Montepulciano pairing?
1️⃣ Pizza night 🍕
2️⃣ Pasta & red sauce 🍝

Let’s raise a glass to one of the wine world’s most versatile grapes — it’s International Chenin Blanc Day! 🍐🍷🌍
Celebrated every June 7th, this day shines a light on Chenin Blanc, a grape that can do almost everything — from crisp and dry to lusciously sweet, even sparkling!

Originally from France’s Loire Valley, Chenin Blanc is now a superstar in South Africa, producing wines full of bright acidity, floral notes, and fruit like apple, pear, honey, and quince. 🍏🍯🌸

Perfect with spicy food, seafood, or soft cheeses — it’s time to give this grape the love it deserves!

POLL:
Have you sipped Chenin Blanc?
1️⃣ Yes — it’s my go-to white!
2️⃣ Not yet — but I’m intrigued!

Volans Blanco Tequila: Clean. Crisp. Completely additive-free. 💧🌵🥃
For this , we’re pouring a standout 100% Blue Weber Agave blanco that’s all about purity, tradition, and terroir.

Crafted without glycerin, flavorings, colors, or chemicals, it’s a tequila that lets the agave speak — loud, clear, and beautifully.

🔥 Slow-cooked for 22 hours, rested for 36, then aerated and oxygenated for that extra-smooth finish — this isn’t just tequila, it’s technique.
👃 On the nose: mineral-rich, with notes of citrus, white flowers, and fresh agave
👄 On the palate: silky, clean, and pure, with a finish that lingers and lingers

Perfect for sipping neat, savoring slowly, and appreciating what real tequila should taste like.

POLL:
How do you drink your blanco tequila?
1️⃣ Sipped neat 🌿
2️⃣ In a margarita 🍋
3️⃣ Both — depends on the mood 🥂

pick: A Barbaresco beauty you’ll want to swirl slowly. 🍷🌿

This single-vineyard 2016 Barbaresco Secondine is elegance in a glass — grown from just 3.5 hectares on the Secondine cru, a prized slope just below Rabajà and Pajé, also home to Gaja’s famed San Lorenzo. With its southern exposure and 230m elevation, this site delivers structure and finesse.

👁️ Color: Deep ruby with garnet reflections
👃 Aroma: Cherries, raspberries, licorice, and floral lift
👄 Taste: Soft tannins, silky texture, bright red fruit, a touch of blood orange and mint — refined, fresh, and impossibly balanced.

This vintage leans more gracious and perfumed than powerful — proof that Barbaresco can whisper and still captivate.

POLL:
What’s your Barbaresco style?
1️⃣ Bold & structured
2️⃣ Elegant & airy

🇺🇸Today, we pause to honor and remember.🇺🇸
This Memorial Day, we raise our glasses in tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Freedom is never free — and today isn’t about sales or backyard parties alone. It’s about remembering why we gather, why we celebrate, and why we have the privilege to enjoy the simple moments.

Whether you're toasting with a fine bourbon, a crisp glass of wine, or a perfectly mixed cocktail, we encourage you to sip slowly, savor fully, and remember deeply.

To those who served — and to those we’ve lost — we thank you. We honor you.

🍾🥂Sip, sip, hooray — it’s National Wine Day!📆🍷
Every year on May 25th, we take a moment (or a bottle) to celebrate one of the oldest, most beloved beverages on Earth — wine! Whether you’re a red lover, a white wine devotee, or all about the bubbles, today’s your excuse to raise a glass and toast to the magic in every pour.

Did you know?

➡️Wine has been around for over 8,000 years, with the earliest evidence found in Georgia (the country, not the state!).

➡️The U.S. is the largest wine-consuming country in the world, and California alone produces nearly 90% of all American wine.

➡️There are over 10,000 wine grape varieties globally — and growing!

Why do we love wine?
Wine is more than just a drink. It’s a story in a glass — shaped by climate, soil, winemaking technique, and tradition. A crisp Sauvignon Blanc tells a different tale than a silky Pinot Noir, and each vintage brings a new twist.

Celebrate like a pro today:

🍇Try a grape you’ve never tasted before (Tempranillo? Grüner Veltliner? Mourvèdre?)

🍾Support a local winery or wine shop — they often have hidden gems!

🥂Host a mini blind tasting and surprise your palate

🍷Or simply unwind with your favorite bottle and your favorite people

Here’s to the grape that keeps on giving!
Whether you like your wine chilled, aged, bold, sweet, or bubbly, National Wine Day is all about enjoying the glass your way.

What are you sipping today? Drop the name of your bottle in the comments — we’re always looking for new favorites!

📆🍾Today in wine history: Everything changed on May 24, 1976!🍷📆
It’s the anniversary of the legendary Judgment of Paris — the blind tasting that turned the wine world upside down!

What happened?:
At a time when French wine ruled the world, a British wine merchant, Steven Spurrier, organized a blind tasting between top French wines and — shocker — California wines.

French judges, thinking they were only picking the finest of the finest from their own backyard, ended up choosing California wines as the winners for both red and white categories!

The winners?

🥂Best White Wine: Chateau Montelena Chardonnay (Napa Valley)

🍷Best Red Wine: Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Why it matters:

✔️This single event put California wine (and American wine in general) on the global map.

✔️It shattered the myth that only France could produce world-class wine.

✔️It forever changed how we think about "New World" vs. "Old World" wines.

Fun Facts:

➡️The judges were so surprised (and, frankly, embarrassed) that some tried to downplay the results after the tasting!

➡️Time Magazine’s coverage of the event turned it into a global story.

➡️The 2008 movie “Bottle Shock” starring Chris Pine is a dramatized version of the event!

How to celebrate today:

🍷Sip a Napa Valley Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon in honor of the underdogs!

🥂Host your own blind tasting with friends — you might be surprised what your palate picks!

🍾Visit a local winery and raise a glass to how far the global wine scene has come!
