Some of our customers have been asking us about how Blue Store Chicken got started. I understand this is important and it should have been in the description since the first day. I apologize for not having done this sooner. So here is a brief story about our history.
Established in 2000.
Our legacy begun the day we bought the store. The store is named Triplet's Foodmart. The building was painted Light Blue and Yellow, which originally was the theme color to Jaguar Nation's Southern University Jaguar. We were apart of the community. The store came with a tiny kitchen with only two fryers. We never knew how to fry chicken then. The former store owner taught us how to cook and run the business. We were not popular then. But we quickly learned why that is. The food wasn't that great. We had to make changes to the spices, the ingredients, and we even changed our cooking process. After we changed the recipe, we became popular. Our mother repainted the entire store blue. She did not know about the Jaguar's themed colors. Nobody knew what Triplet's Foodmart was about. So our customers started calling it "The Blue Store." Out of convenience, the customers gave us a name. It stuck with us all these years. We are now known for our famous fried chicken.
I remember in the early days, Jaguar's students would rush to the store during lunch hours and ordered wings, potato logs and a can of soda. And on Sundays, church people would come by and order a large amount of wings. I picture them sitting together at a table and passing around our delicious fried chicken. Everyone was enjoying their meal. And that is really what Blue Store is about; bringing people together. We may be the only store that sells fried chicken in bulk (50 pcs and up to 600pcs even). We never intend on selling our product in large quantities. However, this is what our customers wanted. And we've been catering like this ever since. It wasn't enough. We could not keep up. And now, we ended up with seven locations. We didn't realize that we had fed the entire Baton Rouge area. We are deeply humbled and tremendously grateful for our customers. We love you all.
