It is with deep sadness that the Bethlehem Police Department announces the passing of retired Sgt. Steven Marshall, who served the citizens of Bethlehem for 22 years. Sgt. Marshall joined the department in July 1988, and retired in July 2010 after a long and distinguished career.

Sgt. Marshall tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in North Myrtle Beach, SC on Friday, April 4 around 1:30 pm after being struck by a drunk driver. His dedication, professionalism, and commitment during his more than two decades of service left an indelible mark on our department and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Sgt. Marshall’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy and contributions to the department will not be forgotten. The Bethlehem Police Department is grateful for the hard work of the South Carolina Highway Patrol for their investigation of the accident that claimed Sgt. Marshall’s life.

Prosecutors will begin their efforts to convince a Delaware County jury that a suspended Harrisburg magisterial district judge tried to kill her estranged boyfriend last year.

Transporting and lodging the Delaware County jury for five nights will cost about $20,000. A Dauphin County jury sitting the same length of time costs county taxpayers $1,000 to $1,500, according to Dauphin County Court Administrator Stephen Libhart.

WANTED PERSON - Julito Ortiz Jr. is wanted by the Bethlehem Township Police Department for felony charges including Involuntary Deviate Sexual In*******se with a Person Less Than 16 Years Old, Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, Corruption of Minors, and Indecent Assault.

Arrest warrants exist for Mr. Ortiz for the above charges.

Mr Ortiz is 46 years old, about 5'11" tall and 185 pounds, according to police.
