Newly founded by Julio González and his cousin Juan - both with a multi-generation family history in agave and tequila (hence the 1925) and a desire to honor and carry that history forward. They are passionate stewards of the land, the culture and the art of making Tequila. We’ll offer a taste of their Blanco and Añejo - both new to the Texas market. The Añejo is aged 18 months in new American white oak and both Tequilas are made pure and additive-free. Bonjour! 🇫🇷 Our Wine of the Week is the 2024 Côtes de Provence Rosé Saint-Victoire Elie Sumeire - a family-grown, superb Provençal rosé fresh off the boat! Mt. Sainte-Victoire is a large limestone ridge (and treasured subject of Cézanne) whose stone lends crispness and definition to this pink made of 60% Grenache with 20% each of Cinsault and Syrah. Smell / taste bright peach and a hint of watermelon accented with a touch of Provençal garrigue (herbs) and sea spray. Just $17.50 per bottle!

C’mon downtown Saturday for a taste of three Sauvignon Blancs from their birthplace in the Loire Valley of France! Bred here in the 1500s from a wild white grape indigenous to Southwestern France, Sauvignon Blanc is a hardy grape, capable of adapting to different climes and has emigrated to many different parts of the old and new world. The sub-region of Touraine is large and centered in the Loire Valley - 134 communes that border the Loire River’s east to west span, from Saumur to Blois. Touraine does not have the notoriety of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé a bit upriver, but the grapes grown there, in the right winemaker’s hands, can offer wines with just as much panache at a more friendly price point! Nikka was founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934 after living in Scotland for two years where he studied organic chemistry at the University of Glasgow and malt whisky production at Hazelburn Distillery in Campbeltown. Taketsuru-san was one of the most pivotal individuals in building the Japanese whisky industry we know today. Japanese whisky draws inspiration from its Scotch counterparts but puts a very distinctive twist by sourcing the best water, often cultivating their own barley, using unique yeast strains for fermentation, the highest quality stills for distillation and sometimes Japanese oak for aging. John Williams was bitten by the “California wine bug” in 1975 - and was part of the initial team at Stag’s Leap as they won the Judgement of Paris. He founded Frog’s Leap in 1981 with Dr. Larry Turley (i.e. Turley Wines) using Sauvignon Blanc from the doctor’s property. The winery found its permanent home in Rutherford in 1994 and since then has been a leader in sustainable agriculture and staying true to that “old California” style - judicious use of new wood, not chasing brix, extraction or rating points. Still family owned today with John’s son Rory (who grew up in the vineyards) poised to take over the helm. Ciao! Our Wine of the Week is the 2023 Soave Brigaldara, a delightful white wine from the Veneto made with sustainably-grown Garganega grapes. Enjoy aromas of chamomile, peach, citrus, and a hint of straw. This light-bodied wine offers a balanced roundness and acidity, making it ideal with grilled seafood, shellfish, herbed chicken, and lighter soft cheeses.

We’ll start in in the Luberon (between Avignon and Aix-en-Provence) with a fresh, pale rosé composed of Ecocert-certified organic Cinsault and Syrah. Then, off to Corbieres in southwestern France for a delightfully light rosé composed of Grenache Gris (the red-flecked cousin to Grenache Noir). We’ll wrap in Provence with two rosés from the crème de la crème of Provençal producers - a Côtes de Provence from Domaines Ott (owned by the esteemed Champagne house Louis Roederer) and a Cassis from Domaine du Bagnol showing off Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grown on the rocky limestone soils in the briny air of the idyllic oceanside village of Cassis. WINE OF THE WEEK: 2023 Château de Mille Clefs de Mille Rouge Luberon - This playful red from the northern part of Provence is composed roughly equally of Syrah and Carignan fruit, organically grown (biodynamic certification in 2025) and offers fresh aromas of red and blue berries, subtle notes of baking spices and candied orange peel. It’s not too heavy on its feet - with bright acidity that reflects on the stony soil it’s grown on. A perfect accompaniment to your summer grilled / smoked items (burgers, BBQ) and it can be served with just a bit of a chill to amplify its crunchy fruit character. Oh - and we’ve got the wine in blanc and rosê as well! After retiring from a 28-year stint as Dom Pérignon’s longtime Chef de Cave in 2018 at the age of 64, Richard Geoffroy had a strong third career calling in Japan. He wanted to explore the concepts of limited production assemblage (like Champagne), exploration of different varieties of rice and koji (yeast) and brewing sakes that could mature and develop with extended cellaring. With passion, dedication and partnerships with top Japanese producers, he has created IWA Sake of Japan. His latest limited release - IWA 5 achieves superlative balance and complexity in sake - capable of different expressions at different serving temperatures - finding a strong correlation between nose and palate and providing a substantial finish.
