Join us for an unforgettable evening with Fratelli Grasso, a family-run winery nestled in the heart of Piedmont, Italy. This special wine dinner will showcase the elegance and tradition of their estate, with a lineup of wines including their unique Chardonnay, traditional reds and age-worthy Barbaresco. Each pour will be thoughtfully paired with a multi-course Italian-inspired menu that highlights the flavors of the region with seasonal ingredients. Throughout the evening, importer Joe DeCaro will share stories behind the wines and the rich heritage of their family vineyards. It’s a rare chance to taste and learn about one of Piedmont’s hidden gems.

🍷🏞 Finger Lakes 🏞🍷

The Finger Lakes is a pre-Prohibition wine region, with the first vines planted in Hammondsport, New York, in 1829. By 1900, more than 50 wineries had been established along the lakes. But it wasn’t until 1982 that the AVA was officially created. Today, there are 10,790 producing acres with 832 acres of Riesling.

The Finger Lakes region has been a staple at VinoTeca since we opened, but in May, Janeen had a chance to visit NY, and our love affair was solidified. This week, we are showcasing 3 wineries that she fell in love with on her week at camp.

Expect vibrant whites, pink bubbles, elegant reds, and plenty of “aha!” moments along the way. A massive, thoughtfully curated cheese board by Toasts by Rachel will accompany the tasting, perfectly paired to highlight each wine. B- Corp 🍀🌿♻️

According to Jancis Robinson: the non-profit organization B Lab was founded in 2006 with the noble aim of ‘transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet.’ They monitor and certify companies’ social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. B Lab’s total of more than 200 questions to be answered by companies assess the social and environmental impact of each brand, including matters of governance, employees, communities, and the environment. Each company’s performance is measured against B Lab standards and has to be publicly available on its B Corp profile on the B Lab website. As if that were not difficult enough, the company has to engage in a process of continuous and continuously monitored improvement. There are so far 5,537 certified B Corporations in 84 countries, and across 157 industries, 23 of them are wineries.

VinoTeca chooses our wines based on many factors, but sustainability is key for us. B-Corp wines truly encompass what our wine goals.

🇫🇷🇫🇷 Chinon! 🇫🇷🇫🇷

June 14th is Drink Chenin Day, so what better way to celebrate one of our favorite varietals than to taste through one of our favorite regions! Chinon is a region in the Loire Valley known for vibrant reds of Cab Franc but also features the other noble variety, Chenin Blanc. This historic region, where during the Middle Ages, the Royal Court often relocated to Chinon, as it was one of Henry's preferred summer residences. Nestled along the Vienne River, it's known for its charming villages and hillside vineyards.
It is a great way to explore one of France’s most overlooked gems.

Originally called Decoration Day, from the early tradition of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths, and flags, Memorial Day is a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country. Although the traditions have changed, we honor our service members with a weekend off spent with family and friends enjoying late spring weather and BBQ.
