Usually, our Thursday spotlight is all about the amazing brands in our humidor — but sometimes, the people and places in our cigar community deserve the spotlight just as much as the ci**rs themselves. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming friends from Fat Ash Cigar Lounge in Ashland, KY — led by owner Dwight and his wife Shannon, whose passion and hospitality make Fat Ash feel like home. Alongside them, General Manager Paul and his wife Amanda help ensure every guest’s experience is top-notch.
Fat Ash is more than a lounge — it’s a family. They’re also the proud host of My Old Kentucky Herf, one of the premier cigar events in the region. Each year, enthusiasts gather for an unforgettable celebration of premium ci**rs, fine bourbon, live music, and true Kentucky camaraderie. It’s the kind of event that belongs on every cigar lover’s bucket list.
It’s definitely worth the drive — and as an added bonus, you can swing by The Scioto Ribber in Portsmouth, Ohio, for an incredible wood-grilled steak dinner to round out the trip.
We’re grateful for their visit and look forward to many more opportunities to share a smoke, a story, and maybe a pour or two. Here’s to Fat Ash, My Old Kentucky Herf, and the bonds that make our cigar world so extraordinary. 🥂
