These are not statistics to me — they are lived experiences that continue to shape who I am and why Rawzana was founded. Today, nearly half of Afghanistan’s population lives below the poverty line, according to estimates from organizations such as the World Bank and the United Nations. Behind those numbers is a deeper truth: poverty in Afghanistan is not temporary. It is systemic, generational, and deeply rooted.
