There is still an active hostage situation and bomb threat at a Chase Bank in downtown Bakersfield.
A man barricaded himself inside the Chase Bank around 17th Street and Chester Avenue.

It is reported he has an explosive device strapped to his body and is holding someone hostage.

Police are negotiating with him. Heavy police presence on scene, with streets closed (H to L streets, Truxtun to 18th Street area).
