David Brian Shaw "Big Book Dave" left this planet on July 24, 2016, to be with the love of his life, Alma Shaw. Dave was born on Aug. 31, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, to David and Phyllis (Casey) Shaw.
Dave began his Alaska adventure in 1976. Dave and Alma J. (Wilson) were married in 1981, and together, they enjoyed camping and experiencing Alaska until Alma's death in 2007. Dave was the owner of Pipe & Pouch To***co Shop that was in the University Mall for more than 30 years.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Janet Ann (Gaps) Riney, of Eastpointe, Michigan. Dave is survived by his brother, Phillip L. Shaw, of Warren, Michigan; stepchildren Peri Lane Muhich (Steve), of Camas, Washington, and Buddy Lane (Karen); grandchildren Brittany Lane and Stephanie Lane Smith (Anthony), and great-grandson Aiden Smith, all of North Pole.
