The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Amboy Police Department are investigating an Attempted Armed Robbery that occurred at the Shell Gas Station, located at 342 N. Mason Ave., Amboy, Illinois, on December 31, 2025.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (815) 284-6631 or the Amboy Police Department at (815) 857-6750. Please reference case number #10835.

Residents in the area north of the gas station who have video surveillance are encouraged to review their footage and report anything suspicious.

Information may also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CAUGHT-U. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if the information provided leads to an arrest.
