There’s a way to stop this major environmental change to detrimental wetlands before the “flood gates” are released. Once the unnecessary work begins there will be a harder reason for remedy. The state has federal money to begin the destructions but no financial assistance for possible remedy, the suffering to natural wildlife, waterways, and homeowners along the the Merrymeeting river is unknown. Save the Dam before it’s too late to ☮️

DAM UPDATE!

NHDES will begin drawdown of the Alton Power Dam on Sept. 2.

Total drawdown has been postponed! Partial 2.5’ drawdown by stoplog removal will proceed as originally planned.

NH Fish & Game & DES will be monitoring conditions closely to ensure safety.
