Today marks one year since I took a leap of faith and became the owner of The Old Town Shop.


What a year it has been! From learning the ins and outs of running a small business, to getting to know so many wonderful customers, vendors, neighbors, and visitors, this past year has been filled with challenges, lessons, memories, and so many moments that have made it all worthwhile.

One of my favorite parts of this past year has been getting to know so many of you whether you’re stopping in to shop, saying hello while walking through Old Town, or stopping by with your dogs for their daily treats. 🐾❤️ Those little moments have become some of my favorite parts of every day.

And I absolutely have to recognize my amazing staff. ❤️ I could not have made it through this first year without the people who show up, work hard, take care of our customers, and help make The Old Town Shop what it is. Thank you for everything you do and for helping make this first year possible. I am so grateful for each of you.

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked through our doors, made a purchase, recommended us to a friend, stopped in to say hello, or simply supported us along the way.

Owning a small business is so much more than selling products. It’s about being part of a community. And I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Old Town Alexandria community.

Thank you for making my first year so special. I’m excited for what the next year will bring and can’t wait to continue growing The Old Town Shop with all of you.
