A Native American student keeps long hair because of tradition.
School says:
✂️ “Cut it to follow policy.”
Family says:
🪶 “Keep it to honor culture.”
For many Native communities, long hair is not fashion…
It represents identity.
Respect.
Tradition.
Some people believe school rules should be the same for everyone.
Others believe culture should be respected.
So here’s the question 👇
Should Native American boys be allowed
to keep their hair long at school as part of their tradition? #

A Native American student wants to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day at school.
Some students support it.
Others say:
📚 “School should only follow national holidays.”
Family says:
🪶 “Our history deserves recognition too.”
For many Native communities, this day is not just a celebration…
It represents identity.
History.
Respect.
The student simply wants recognition.
Not special treatment.
Just acknowledgment of culture.
Some people believe:
“Schools should treat all days the same.”
Others believe:
“Cultural history deserves a place in education.”
Now imagine…
A part of your family’s history was never recognized.
Would that feel fair?
So here’s the question 👇
Should schools recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day?

Lakota youth have halted drilling near Pe’ Sla in the Black Hills, South Dakota by locking themselves to equipment as legal challenges continue.

The action follows the U.S. Forest Service’s February 27 permit approval allowing exploratory drilling within a two-mile buffer zone surrounding Pe’ Sla, a site used for ceremony and cultural practices by Oceti Sakowin nations for generations.

Drilling operations include up to 18 drill pads reaching depths of 1,000 feet.

Nine tribes and advocacy groups have filed lawsuits and emergency motions against the U.S. Forest Service over the approved graphite drilling project.

Today, the Pe’ Sla Protector Camp is inviting supporters to participate in ceremony. Protocols have been shared via NDNCollective.

“We do this out of love for the people and the land — not out of hate for the enem

Are Native American Traditions Disappearing Too Fast?
Across the United States, many Indigenous elders fear that younger generations are slowly losing connection with tribal traditions, language, and ceremonies.
Leaders from the Cherokee Nation say modern life and social media are changing Native culture faster than ever before.
Now a painful question is spreading online…
⚠️ People are asking: • What happens when traditions are forgotten?
• Can a culture survive without its language?
• Are younger generations drifting too far away?
Some believe culture is evolving naturally.
Others fear entire traditions could disappear forever.
👇 Question for you:
Are Native American traditions disappearing too fast?

In 1912, the King of Sweden looked at a young man from the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma and said:
"Sir, you are the greatest athlete in the world."
Jim Thorpe replied simply: "Thanks, King."
At the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm, Jim Thorpe won gold medals in both the pentathlon and the decathlon. (Cultural Survival) He also placed fourth in the high jump and seventh in the long jump — and on top of all that, played in two exhibition baseball games at the same Olympics. (NPR)
In 1950, the Associated Press voted him the greatest athlete of the half-century — he received 252 of 393 first-place votes. Babe Ruth came second. Jack Dempsey was third. (NPR)
Not the greatest Native American athlete. Not the greatest athlete of his era.
The greatest athlete of the century.
🏅 Wa-Tho-Huk. Bright Path. James Francis Thorpe.

SUPREME COURT RESTORES NATIVE VOTING RIGHTS: HISTORIC WIN FOR TRIBAL DEMOCRACY ✊🗳️
The Supreme Court was correct to vacate the Eighth Circuit's decision which wrongly prevented Native voters and Tribal Nations from vindicating their rights under the Voting Rights Act, said the Native American Rights Fund (Native News Online) .
The Supreme Court just RESTORED Native voting rights. Indigenous democracy wins again.
After years of attacks on tribal voting power — gerrymandering, voter suppression, registration restrictions — the highest court in the land has spoken:
Native voters have the RIGHT to full protection under the Voting Rights Act.
This is HISTORIC. This is JUSTICE. This is tribal democracy WINNING.
Gubernatorial candidates are now vying for the Native vote in the 2026 midterm elections as Indigenous voters flex their political muscle (Native News Online) .
Politicians are paying attention. Courts are listening. Indigenous voters are POWERFUL.
Your vote is your sovereignty. Your voice is your power.
Comment ✊ if you celebrate this victory. Share if you believe in Native voting rights. 👇
