If you're a fan of Lammes pralines, you might want to grab these while you can. The iconic candy company -- in business since 1885 -- is closing and we are no longer able to order from them. We do have a few packages of the pralines left in the store, so hurry on down!
(Of course, we always have our local favorite Vletas' pralines!)

We received a very nice award last night.
The Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau, at its first annual ABI awards ceremony, honored Texas Star with the Ambassador of Tourism Award, noting, "Over the years Texas Star Trading Company has been one of the greatest ambassadors of tourism for Abilene."
That is certainly something we have tried to be in our 22 years downtown. We have greeted visitors from every state, more than 50 foreign countries, and countless Texas towns and asked them to sign our guest book, and we have handed out thousands of brochures and personal recommendations touting various Abilene venues, events, and restaurants.
We feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to promote Abilene as a great place to visit, as well as a wonderful place to live, and we are hoping that whoever purchases Texas Star will want to maintain that tradition.
Thank you, ACVB, for this award, which we will always cherish.
