Back now for a little while, the recent trip to northern Portugal and Northwest of Spain still lingers in .th memory, and together, we would like to invite you to join this masterclass at Wine Bar on Thursday, March 26th.

Jordan will share stories of places and people, a journey through Bierzo and Ribeira Sacra all the way down to the Douro offering you a deeper understanding of what makes the red wines of the Iberian Atlantic so special.

The younger and maturing labels exemplify a striking sense of place and wholesome collaboration, vinously communicated through the indigenous varieties of these respective regions. From steep, schist-laden vineyards of Mencia and Caiño Tinto to prolific parcels of Bastardo and Mencia, ending in the Douro with historic estate which not only crafts some of the greatest port wine on the planet, but makes a compelling case for their age-worthy red wines. We have done the patience-required heavy lifting for you, as these wines have been well cellared and matured and our now showing their opulence and profundity in abundance. A perfect time to discover and drink your way through a region that now feels deeply personal and continually exciting.

The recently disgorged Champagne from second-generation vigneron Emmanuel Lassaigne has arrived.

His singular focus is the dedicated pursuit of making some of the very best Chardonnay-based Blanc de Blancs wines in the entirety of Champagne. Vintage after vintage we have been delighted to share his wines here in Thailand, from his annual Millesime bottlings to parcel-focused wines like La Colline Inspiré, complex blendings of solera wines such as Le Cotet, and not to mention, white and red Coteaux Champenois from the 2022 vintage.

The terroir of Montgueux speaks to something historic and persisting in the region, Kimmeridgien laced soils outside the ancient capital of Troyes have been a proving ground for Lassaigne’s inimitable wines. Within the city walls, bars like Le Chat Noir are abuzz with bottles of bubbles and jazz music reminding us that Champagne’s energy extends beyond the bottle.

What sets Lassaigne apart from the pack, besides his particularly mineral-attuned terroir - often referred to as the “Montrachet of Champagne” - is his cohesive understanding of the land he works through organic and biodynamic farming practices complemented by a wholly unique approach to his Champenoise method in the cellar: zero dosage, long élévage on lees, hand disgorgement, and an idiosyncratic usage of barrels from Burgundy, Jura, Jerez, and beyond.

The wines of Jacques Lassaigne show that while Reims is often considered the epicenter of the region, it always pays to look outside the box to discover what the contemporary landscape of Champagne has in store for inquisitive drinkers and eager palates.

Rain has a way of following you through the Loire in winter. On our recent trip, it trailed us all the way from Angers to the small town of Gétigné, where has cultivated one of the most thoughtful domaines in the Pays Nantais.

Just outside Nantes, the region is often reduced to a simple image: Atlantic breezes, plates of oysters, and Muscadet poured ice-cold without much contemplation. Bretaudeau’s work offers a very different perspective. Over the past two decades he has approached these vineyards with a level of precision more commonly associated with the Loire’s most revered terroirs, isolating individual parcels, working them with biodynamic principles, and exploring the volcanic seams that run through his vines.

In the cellar, the philosophy follows the same thread of patience and observation. Fermentations occur naturally, vessels vary from stainless steel to concrete, ceramic, and wood, and the wines spend extended time resting on their lees. The result is Muscadet that trades simplicity for structure and detail, a collection of wines that speaks articulately of geology, texture, and place.

Recognition has deservedly followed. In 2025, La R***e du Vin de France named Jérôme Bretaudeau Winemaker of the Year, a distinction that feels less like a surprise and more like confirmation of what his bottles have been demonstrating for decades. After meeting Jérôme at La Dive all of those years ago, we are once again very excited to be able to present a selection of his site-specific Muscadet, skin macerated Pinot Gris, ensorcelling reds of Pinot Noir and Merlot, as well as his cult-favorite Loire grown Savagnin.

We are back from tastings with full hearts and notebooks. This year was about finally sitting down with people we have worked with for years – and in some cases, meeting them in person for the first time. There are too many vineyards and too little time & budget… some places have to stay a fantasy a little longer!

What these days reminded us: trust your instincts and follow the curious minds. People like Ricardo Freitas at , the family in the Douro, or agronomy “guiding light” , now advising far beyond Sicily. These are a few of the conversations that shape the bottles you see from Wine Garage.

The wine world is quietly readjusting. The producers we connect with put human contact first, listen to each other’s pain points, and still dare to experiment. We are grateful to be at the table with them – and to bring that energy back to you in Thailand. Onwards to discovery!

Our final day of wine fairs took us back to Angers for one of the Loire’s largest wine fairs, Salon des Vins de Loire, with a focus on organic and biodynamic certified wines with producers mainly from the region but also featuring some familiar faces from afar!

From our Loire friends, we started the day with Martin Laureau of in Savennieres who we visited at the domaine last year! We tasted Chenin from across the last few challenging vintages but were happy to hear that 2025 was one of calm and abundance as with most places in the valley! We then visited and tasted with Pierre Bise of Savennieres, Chinon’s Petit Thouars , Bourgeuil based Domaine du Bel Air , and finally Vouvray’s Damien Pinon so needless to say there was no shortage of Chenin and Cabernet Franc to start the day!

Following with the rest of France, it was great to connect and meet from Beaujolais showing both her and partner from respective parcels in Fleurie and Julienas. We then tasted with a new suggestion to us thanks to our good friend Marco Pelletier who recommended we try the wines from Savoie’s and they did not disappoint! Delicious, refined expressions of local varieties Jacquere, Altesse, and Mondeuse made for a wonderful discovery.

And to cap out the day, by lovely happenstance, we ran into Emma Gao of all the way from China! The wines were excellent as always and fascinating to try her amphora-aged orange wine as well as a lovely sparkling wine dosed with local rice wine.

As always, a busy but incredibly fulfilling trip getting to taste with nearly a hundred different winemakers over the course of a week and a half. We come back to Bangkok now feeling inspired, motivated, and ambitious to share more of these amazing wines, passion, and knowledge with our Thai wine community. If you have any questions or the sound these wines and winemakers piqued your interests please don’t hesitate to reach out and come discover more with us!

Past Sunday morning we headed off bright and early to Saumur, a small town situated right on the Loire River, to attend one of the world’s most famous wine fairs known as La Dive Bouteille. Hundreds of winemakers gather every year in the centuries old Caves Ackerman, an incredibly impressive cave dug out of the side of a mountain, where thousands of attendees come to taste wines in an environment unlike any other.

The first stop is always to see our Burgenland-based buddy Claus Preisinger pouring his fantastic bottlings of Furmint, Kalkundkiesels, and of course lots of Blaufränkisch. We then tasted across the Loire revisiting wines from the Joussets from their estate and negoce fruit along with their new project growing seaside Chenin in Brittany. Alexis Hudon (who formerly worked with the Joussets) was also in attendance showing wines from both his Montaillant project and well-loved cuvées such as Groseille and Matousé. To finish the Loire we tasted with Alexandre Bain, and we are happy to say after much delay, the wines will finally be returning to us this year.

Burgundy followed with a tasting from our good friend Valentin Montanet who was with us in Bangkok just a few months back! His wines were showing excellently with new negoçiant projects in Chablis and others. Then to Savoie as we tasted with Domaine des Sonnettes & Sonshine Vins with Pinot and Gamay from Savoie and multi-regional blends like Blanksia and Petal.

The day finished with our Georgian and Greek winemakers John Okro and Apostolos Thymiopoulos .vineyards both winemakers that are setting the tone for the excellence in their respective countries, locales, and terroirs for the capacities of incredible age-worthy winemaking.

News from the last trade day at La Levee in Angers will follow! Please stay tuned.

The last Saturday of the month in Angers is always a busy one, from wine salons in historic buildings to small off-fair tastings held throughout the city. This year featuring even more than previous as wine professionals and lovers alike traverse Angers to taste and converse with their favorite producers.

We started the day at Natur-all a small wine fair dedicated to showing producers only working with the purest of philosophies, just grapes nothing else added or taken way. We began with a tasting of Albert Domingo’s .tuets wines with their expressive range of colors, textures and flavors. Albert’s wines have become even more refined and singular over the years showing off the beauty of his biodynamic farmstead in Catalunya. Afterwards, we caught up with Daniela & Antonio from from Italy’s Campania region, two of the kindest winemakers we have the pleasure to know. The wines were shining, incredibly precise and tactile showing us the future of the estate and reminding us of how expressive the wines we have available now must be such as their macerated wine called Paski.

The afternoon was spent at Salon Madavin, held in the iconic Greniers St Jean in Angers. Here we started our afternoon with beautiful Alsatian wines from Riesling, Gewurz, Pinot Gris, Noir and more from the hands of Domaine Zusslin .zusslin and Achillée .
From here we met with our Greek friends tasting scintillating high elevation whites from Domaine Sclavos and fantastic bottlings from Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos of
As well, a lovely first time meeting the Chastan Sisters who have been producing profound expressions of Grenache for decades in Gigondas at Clos du Joncuas
And of course, the salon would not be complete without a tasting with in our opinion, one of Germany’s brightest stars, the Rieslings of Peter Jakob Kuhn .p.j.kuehn in the Rheingau which showed magnificent depth and concentration.

Tomorrow we head to Saumur for La Dive from one of the Loire’s biggest wine fairs to see friends from around the world, cheers!

One of our favorite salons of the year, and the one that inevitably kicks off our journey in the Loire is Les Penitentes. An annual fair of independent, low-intervention winemakers hosted by the Puzelat family of and amasses winemaking friends from all over France and Spain. What a joy it was, not only getting to taste but catch up with vignerons and producers who have quickly become close friends over the years!

We started with who many consider to be the godfather of cider and perry making in France, Jérôme Forget (now accompanied by his son) of following a lovely visit to his farmstead just last September. Truly some of the most vivid expressions of pear and apple we have tasted so far finishing with coferments and calvados from his small appellation of Domfront.

Tastings followed of Chardonnay from both Burgundy’s northern and southern regions with Thomas Pico and his illustrative, long-elevage Chablis to the savory and gastronomic Mâcon whites of Domaine Denogent

From Georgia we were warmly greeted by winemaker John Wurdeman of tasting through a colorful and vivid expanse of wines from terroir across the country as well as being introduced to wines from a few new producers that have us very excited for the potential of Georgian wines growth and acceptance in Thailand.

Finally, we finished with the hometown heroes, tasting wines from Zoe and Louise Puzelat revisiting cuvées that we got to see up close and personal in the cellar last year to now being vibrant, exemplary bottlings of Sauvignon Blanc, Menu Pineau, Gamay, Pinot Noir, and more. And an always lovely visit with winemaker Frantz Saumon as we tasted both his and his wife Marie Thibault’s whites and reds with the Mineral + and magnum bottling of Romorantin simply shining

In addition to the abundance of expos, salons, and tastings happening in the Loire during these days, one of our favorite things about this annual pilgrimage is our proximity to where these vignerons make their magic. Getting to stand in the vineyards, taste in the cellar, and gain deeper insight into the philosophies, intricacies, challenges, and successes firsthand is truly the most fulfilling way to learn more about these wines.

On the way to Angers we were welcomed by , just a few hours drive from Paris located in the region of Montlouis-sur-Loire. We spent the afternoon with friends and wine professionals from around the world, rubbing elbows, breaking bread, traversing old vines of Chenin, and tasting through the expanse of the cellar. The wines were showing amazingly well, the 23s with their opulence and complexity from single parcel expressions to solera sous voile bottlings.

Yesterday we ventured out into what could only be described as classic Loire winter weather as pouring rain accompanied our drive over to Gétigné just south of Nantes to visit none other than . An absolute masterclass in Muscadet showing unparalleled levels of terroir and place, with the Gabbro and Granite cuvées speaking particularly profoundly. He shared with us both recent and older vintages of Statera Pinot Noir which easily rivaled the very best red wines of Burgundy. We finished with samplings of Savagnin and a sous-voile multi-vintage Chardonnay started in 2015 before being blessed with clearer skies and rainbows on our drive back.

More to share from the fairs as well so stay tuned!

What better way to start our second day in France, than with a tasting of all things Burgundy! From the whites, bright and effusive Chablis from .des.malandes.chablis and to the majestic Meursault of

We followed swiftly with Beaune and Pommard reds from with vintages going back to 2017 and fantastic Cru Beaujolais specimens from in Moulin a Vent, with lots in store to be excited for.

A few friends from the Loire made an early appearance this year as we tasted with Sancerre’s , Chinon’s , and standout Chenins, Malbecs and Sauvignons from situated between the terroirs of Touraine and Montlouis. A very special shoutout to who’s site-specific wines like Silex and their Sancerre in Amphora had us absolutely stunned, such powerful and descriptive wines of place.

Tomorrow we are off to Paris to start a journey to the Loire with visits to winemakers, salons, and expos each and every day so stay tuned for more!
