คณะรัฐมนตรีอนุมัติร่างกฎกระทรวงการนำเข้าสุราจากต่างประเทศ โดยยกเลิกข้อกำหนด "Sole Agent" ที่ผูกขาดการนำเข้า โดยการเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ประกอบการรายใหม่สามารถเข้ามาแข่งขันในตลาดสุราได้มากขึ้น
การปรับโครงสร้างครั้งนี้มุ่งเป้าหมายลดการผูกขาดในตลาดสุรานำเข้า เพิ่มความเป็นธรรมให้ผู้ประกอบการทุกกลุ่ม และเปิดโอกาสให้การแข่งขันในตลาดสุรามีความเสรีมากยิ่งขึ้น พร้อมปรับปรุงระบบภาษีด้วยเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ
รัฐบาลได้นำระบบดิจิทัลมาช่วยอำนวยความสะดวกในการจัดเก็บภาษีของผู้ประกอบการที่นำเข้าสุรา โดยสามารถยื่นชำระภาษีผ่านระบบออนไลน์ได้ทันที สะดวกและรวดเร็ว พร้อมยกระดับมาตรฐานการดำเนินงานให้ทันสมัย
ร่างกฎกระทรวงที่ได้รับการอนุมัติจากครม. ยังต้องรอการประกาศในราชกิจจานุเบกษาก่อน จึงจะมีผลบังคับใช้อย่างเป็นทางการ ซึ่งจะทำให้ตลาดสุรามีความโปร่งใสมากขึ้น และลดการผูกขาด
