Joel Gott Oregon Pinot Noir

Joel Gott Wines was born with the 1996 release of its Amador County Zinfandel, a joint effort with his wife, Sarah Gott, which earned stellar reviews from Robert Parker and Wine Spectator. Following this initial success, Joel Gott Wines released a Sauvignon Blanc in 1998, followed by a Cabernet Sauvignon and other California wines. In 2009, Joel Gott Wines partnered with Trinchero Family Estates. The relationship enables Joel Gott and his team to focus on sourcing the best fruit to produce high-quality wines, while Trinchero helps Joel execute his vision for sales, distribution, and marketing. Joel Gott Wines are notable for the diverse fruits that are sourced for each appellation. The team cultivates long-term grower relationships with carefully selected vineyard sites in California, Oregon, and Washington to craft elegant wines. Fruits from each vineyard are crushed, fermented, and aged separately before coming together for extensive blending trials that drive the creation of each unique wine. Joel Gott Wines are precision-blended to pair well with a wide range of foods, all at reasonable price points.

Each year the Shinshu distillery proposes a limited edition of its emblematic whisky whose evolution over the years reveals the typical signature of the Komagatake single malt.

This 2021 version expresses a rich and complex aromatic profile characterized by a malty and fruity nose that when tasted in the mouth reveals aromas of melon, quince with some notes of honey and hazelnut all wrapped in an oily texture. The finish allows the different aromas to disappear with elegance, leaving room for a slight bitterness.

Located in the heart of the Japanese Alps in a protected natural setting, the Shinshu distillery benefits from a pure water filtered during hundreds of years through the granite rocks of the surrounding mountains. To compose this small batch version 2021, Hajime Kunai, the Master Blender of the House, has selected several bourbon and sherry casks all aged in the distillery's cellars.

Sauvignon Blanc is an easy wine with a relatively short history. The grape was first planted in France in the early 17th century. It was originally named Sémillion Blanc, which is a reference to the French town Sèméac. It was then renamed Sauvignon Blanc in the mid 1800s. The name Sauvignon Blanc comes from the French words for "willow" and "leaves of the vine." It is the only major grape that is used for white wine and it is grown in over 20 different countries.

Mars “Tsunuki” Single Malt Japanese Whisky Edition 2022

The Mars Tsunuki Distillery is Hombo Mars second active production plant, after Shinshu, founded in 2016. Since then, the distillery has released a couple of single malt whiskies, but has predominately been used for ageing whiskies produced at Shinshu. This 2022 single malt was distilled and matured at Tsunuki, signalling that the distillery may be ready to begin releasing more of their own single malts. It’s a well balanced and flavourful expression that brings lots of sweet fruits that combine perfectly with earthy notes to create a drinking experience to remember. A fine whisky indeed and one that leaves us excited for more from this relatively young Japanese distillery.
