The signature sweet of Sendai! 🤩🫛🌟

Zunda Mochi is made of glutinous rice cakes (mochi) covered in a vivid green paste of coarsely ground, edamame beans sweetened with sugar and a touch of salt✨ Compared to red beans, it has a milder flavor with a slightly buttery and nutty taste 😋

Inspired by the sight of seagulls flying over the beautiful Sanriku coast, this iconic confection is the pride of Iwate Prefecture🌟

So what's inside this realistic looking treat? 🔎👀

🪺 At the core, you will find a soft and fluffy center made of sweet white bean paste. It represents the egg yolk! 🟡
🪺 Surrounding it is a delicate castella cake layer that has a moist and springy texture! ✨
🪺 Finally, wrapping the entire dessert is a smooth and thin layer of delicious, white chocolate. It is to resemble a fragile eggshell! 🥚

Born in 2006 in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Kai Hasegawa has been passionate about drawing since childhood and continues to dedicate himself to his artistic practice. His distinctive style brings animals to life with a unique, human-like charm. Among them, tigers are his favorite subject, frequently appearing throughout his works.
