Chateau Saint Pierre’s 300 year history as a wine estate has been varied to say the least, awarded 4th Grand Cru Classe in the 1855 classification, the wine was celebrated through to the1920’s when it lost its way due to bad management, it wasn’t until Henri Martin purchased the property in 1982, that the true potential was revealed and over the next 40 years Saint Pierre became the most improved property in Bordeaux, now producing rich, full bodied, elegant wines equal to its prestigious neighbours of Ducru Beaucaillou, Beychevelle and Gruard Larose, but at a fraction of the price. Enjoy this wine aged from 8 to 30 years and more.

Dating back to the 1600’s the property was originally owned by the Armailhac brothers, river-boat captains who invested in Pauillac property. Located between Pontet Canet and Brane Mouton (which would later become Mouton-Rothschild), good enough to be classified as a 5th Growth in the 1855 classification, it wasn’t until 1934 when Baron Philippe de Rothschild purchased the property that the wines would begin to see their full potential. Under the direction of the Mouton Rothschild winemaking team, produced from 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the wines are rich and full and a perfect representation of Pauillac’s Terroir. Aging beautifully over 20 to 30 years.
