To be honest, I donât even know how to begin writing about this person, as this is the first time something like this has happened in our store.The woman in the picture came to our store to buy souvenir shirts. She chatted with our staff and quickly became friendly with them. Our staff are always friendly and accommodatingânot just to her, but to all our customers. We treat everyone like VIPs.However, this woman took advantage of our staffâs kindness. She started telling stories, claiming she was a cancer survivor and that she and her husband had just bought a resort in Panglao, between Dumaluan and Onboard. After a long conversation, she hugged one of our staff and said she would get money from the hotel where she was staying.It took two days before she returned to pay for the items she initially bought. But after paying, she picked up another item and told our staff that she would come back with her husbandâwho would be the one to pay for the additional items. She assured them that she was still staying in a hotel near our store.I donât know why my staff kept agreeing to everything she saidâitâs like they were hypnotized.On April 11, my staff started to worry because they could no longer see her at the hotel. Thatâs when they told me they suspected they had been scammed. They tried calling her, since they had her number and were even connected with her on Facebook. Despite dozens of calls, she only answered twiceâand even then, she continued to lie, saying she would come back to the store to pay for the items she had taken.This is the worst partâshe has already blocked my staff so they can no longer contact her. I admit my staff were negligent for allowing her to take items without paying for them first.One of the reasons Iâm posting this is to warn my fellow Boholanos about this woman. I donât want anyone else in Bohol to be scammed by her.As the owner, I am already taking legal action and still trying to locate her. The last known location we have is that she was in Panglao.
